In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hey guys, i'm looking into purchasing this tune for my genny. Currently have an AEM intake and full cat back. The power increase may be minimal but the 7200 rpm redline + new throttle maps make me want to pull the trigger. Anyone have the tune and willing to share an honest opinion?

I have the tune, but on a V8 so I don't know if you want my opinion ? But if you do let me know. Have a blessed day.

You have a tune on a 2015-2016 genesis v8??

Yes! Transmissions are the same so should be similar in terms of feel.. how is it?

...and where do I go to find the tune? Ive got the V8 as well and Im looking for a slight volume increase and power too! Also does it have different modes?

I got my tune from Blood type racing ,I also opted for the trans tune . It was $1,500.00 for both ok the con's imo at hwy speed the car surges or jerks on a steady pedal, the car will no longer shift itself in manual mode and esc is not completely turned off when you press the button you might get the extended crank when starting the car, I had a chip your car chip in it and with that installed I don't have the crank issue and the price . Pro's 7400 RPM, manually shifting your gears, wish I had paddle shifters, power through the whole rev range, without the tune at 0 to 60 great 60 too 80 mph it would fall flat ,that's gone still has the lag when stepping on the gas ,but not as bad oh the car pops and gurgles in manual mode. I get so many complements and head turning it's awesome. I spent the money on the tune because I was power starved, i don't regret it one bit my car a beast in manual mode, regular drive mode not so much just like the stock car. Worth the money get it !!! Tell Luke Kelton sent you maybe he'll get you a discount or something, at least I hopping he will. A closed mouth doesn't get fed. God blees.

Thanks for the feedback! Very helpful! I thing the tune for the 15-16s are tcu and ecu for $950

I wonder what they exactly do for 950, doesn't sound like its worth it at all. If you want power then the 3.8 is the wrong car to start with.

It comes on a new oem ECU which alone costs around 800

The 3.8 has more mods available because of the coupe, no one has tried to put a turbo on a sedan but the have kits, you could do more with a 3.8 than the 5.0 . Look on all the website plus v6 more room for turbos , the V6 guy are in my opinion sleeping on the v6 sedans. Those guys have the world at there feet. But maybe they bought 3.8 for gas mileage, I bought 5.0 to take names and pass out butt whipppings. Lol
God bless

That is true, but with the demographics on who buys the 3.8 sedan your looking at a very rare few if any that would go out of their way to modify the sedan.

Who in the right mind that is still paying the bank for their sedan, would drop another 15k for a twin turbo setup that is not even guaranteed to work properly, and even if it did you throw the reliability out the window.

If power is what you want and the ability to dink around, then save the money and trade the car in for a G80sport with the 3.3TT motor, its a lot more gratifying when you spend the money and made 50 or 60 more horsepower than a crappy 1000 dollar ecu tune that maybe gets you 2/10th faster.

15k is a little excessive, crappy tune ? Now your just being mean, lol it does has some draw backs , but in manual mode, the car way faster and 2/10 can be gap city depending on the race, you are right on the 3.3 but using your logic speeding money on jb4 or race logic on a new or even used to possibly void your warranty? Just admit we are all in the same boat ,I have good point, you have points and all of us are looking for more power ! I found mine in what you call a crappy tune, I live in Texas and turbos don't run great in Texas heat, but my crappy tune does with the a/c on .. It's pro and cons to every mod. I took the hand that I was delt. I bet every Genesis owner goes under the radar with cops meaning they don't bother us because the car looks expensive or slow whichever. We are family trying to get the mods these cars deserve, are you with us or ??? God bless.

I don't think I'm being mean, just not excited for what is being offered to us, I love power, otherwise I wouldn't of build me a 1200whp supra to smash around in. But I'm just being realistic on power/price ratio on the ECU tune. If they said 35whp gain, for 950 that's a more appealing proposition but 6 to 15whp, for 950 just don't justify it for me, if anything spend 300 on the sprint booster to give you the remapped throttle response and I think your 3/4 ways there and you save 650.

I would of loved a v8 with awd, that would be the sleeper of all sleepers.

See that's my point, people like you are what we need ,you have the knowledge of the inner workings of a build. I know you can put a sleeper kit on a 5.0 ! Turbos underneath the car instead of the top. I wish i had your knowledge, resources and expertise. I know just enough to be dangerous, you known enough to make dreams come true, there's your excitement, there a sleeper build in your head. Please picture this twin turbos underneath, front mounted intercooler, someone has to make injectors, I'm stuck on the piping. We don't have to run 20 psi at first just 5 to 8 psi we control the the with heat turbo blankets . Just come up with the piping, we can Frankenstein a kit. To me that's why I got the tune in case someone like you came around I'd have a better chance of not blowing my motor. I would love to talk to you, if you can't figure it out I know you know someone who could. God bless you or and thank you for responding.

I apologize for my rant and I see that you have a v6, but I feel in my heart you can still help, I wish I was in Washington to pick your brain. Thanks again for your time. God bless you.

Yea, man PM me or we can communicate here, I don't mind sharing the insights on a build. its a lot more involved than just strapping on some turbos and making it work. New cars are sooooo comlipcated.

In my opinion, yes if you want to gain a bit more performance from the engine. I personally do not have a problem with spending money to make my car performance better or closer to what I want it to perform.

ECU tuning on non-turbo/supercharged engines never really results in any major power increase, usually only more performance bias tweaks that make the car a bit more fun to drive.

My take is that if you can notice small changes in your car's handling and how it performs overall then yes get the tune, if you really do not notice subtle changes then I would save your money for wheels or some other mod that is very noticeable to the eyes.:)

Ok so I'm kinda new to all this performance stuff. So carguy75, I see you have a Sprint Booster V3. Can you tell a difference in exhaust volume? If so is there a way to turn the tune on and off or even adjust it for road trips and whatnot?

Sprint booster just changes the throttle threshold. This means that you will have more throttle response with less pedal depression. There is no change to your horsepower, exhaust, 0-60 etc.
