  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not sure if how this may differ between Canada and the US but if it does, I am interested in how it works for Canada, but is there an easy way to find out if there is an updated map available?

According to our warranty:
[Legal] Map updates will be provided at No Charge for 5 years / 100,000km whichever comes first. Customers will have the option of either downloading the updated software directly or having the updates done by your distributor in conjunction with your scheduled maintenance. Includes up to 2 updates per year (maximum of 10 updates).

I had my first service in September so the car was less than 5 months old but the dealership never mentioned the map at all. Not sure if this is something I will need to specifically request, or if there is a way to find out what the latest version is so I know if I can request an updated SD card. Also I don't see anywhere on the Genesis at Home site where I can possibly download an updated map.

In the US you can order your update from www.mapnsoft.com/genesis. No idea if it works for you. It will tell you the latest version and how to find yours.

My GXM said that the user download portal is not available yet and should come in the future.
Do you know what map version you are on?
I can compare with mine. My car was delivered last Friday. But car build date is June so not sure if there was an update before delivery!

I wonder if map updates for the car's built-in navigation are as big a deal nowadays where people might be getting their navigation from their smartphone. Personally I use Apple CarPlay all the time and have never used the built-in nav.

I probably only use AA about 25-50% of the time at most as I don't want to deal with plugging my phone in. Updated maps is less important with AA but I still like to see the factory maps and if there is a free update, I might as well take it. :)

You are right. It’s free and you should take it. I also agree that fiddling with cables every time you get in the car makes AA a non starter for me.

Add me to the list. I don't like to be messing around with cables. I use AA only 10% of the time and that's only when the factory map doesn't show the address I'm looking for.
