  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey Guys,

Just found you all and am excited to join the community. I just recently bought a 2009 Genesis 3.8L with the Tech Package. I work at a salvage yard in Michigan and this does have a salvage title and was hit in the drivers rear. Only had to repair the quarter, rear door and rear bumper. It only has roughly 7,700 miles on it!

I was not a fan of the 18s that came stock on it so swapped out for the stock 17s and then had them powder coated. Plan to tint the windows at 20%.

I attached some pics from the auction as well as the progress that has been made so far. Should be done and inspected by the end of the week!

Only a couple quick questions off the top of my head.... This will be my daily driver all year round. I have snow tires, but is it worth putting weight in the back? And will I be able to use Bluetooth to listen to audio on this car? Say Spotify through my Samsung S8+?

Any feedback is appreciated! Anything else that you all would recommend? Thanks ahead of time!

The only question I can answer is... No, you can't play music through the Bluetooth on the stereo.

I am a recent 2009 Genesis purchaser with tech package. The previous owner used snow tires and put two bags of sand in the back and said it makes a difference. I am in the Northeast and get a lot of snow.
As to the sound system which is amazing, the USB Ipod jack can take be used with an ipod and a mp3 usb. The manual says not to over power the usb with high powered electronics it could damage the system. A definite no on bluetooth. You can use a audio jack to connect to a mp3 or android or other phone, but the interface is with the device not through the car. Bluetooth only works with the phone hands/free etc.
You can also watch DVDs but not while the car is moving but you can hear the audio of the movie -- not sure how helpful that feature is.
So far I am very happy with the car. Hope your rebuild goes well.

Hey Johndc!

Any hints on the stereo as far as settings? Want to get the best I can, plan on running my phone through an AUX it looks like. Future possibly do a Bluetooth Aux adapter. Just wondering with the Lexicon system what the best settings are as far as like HD, Surround, RTS, all of those options. Let me know if you have any pointers or feel you get the best out of a certain setting!
