  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Loyalty and pull-ahead programs for Hyundai Genesis Owners

And your point is? That if you own a Volt you should get a loyalty benefit for a Caddy since they are both GM, right? If you do get one (and I don’t know) then I withdraw my argument.

Your problem is that you think I was referring to you. I wasn’t.

Not my problem. But that’s ok. If you are referring to someone specific, just quote them in your reply. Otherwise any conclusion is legit. I thcink my reply is still valid but maybe isn’t pertinent.

What was your point with your pointing out that Genesis is owned by Hyunda?

Even better discounts. And the we should give the current Genesis owners even better even better discounts. And the non Genesis owners still better because after all the came over on faith. And so on. Sorry I don’t think your logic makes marketing sense. I got my MBA just up the road at USC.
No, I never said even better, but it would be nice to give the same.

You may not agree that it makes sense, but where is the bigger pool of potential buyers for a new Genesis right now? Is it owners of the actual Genesis G80 and G90 owners or is it the pool of Hyundai Genesis 2008 to 2015 owners?

I have a 2018 G80. At 13 months and 13,000 miles, it would take a huge incentive for me to trade up to a 2019. If I owned an older Genesis with 100K, it may be the temptation to trade up. Now Genesis marketing may figure the older owners will buy anyway so why give them any incentive? The fact that it is discussed here means it may piss off some of the older model owners since they are not in the "special club" and they may consider changing brands.

Relax everyone please. This is suppose to be a discussion not a war . Thanks EdP for attempting to steer it back on subject.

I believe the point has already been made by the op and answered fairly well.

I think you are thinking rather narrowly and short term. I am not sure that the $1,000 incentive for Hyundai owner are going to get them the buying satisfaction they got when they bought their pre-2017 and bargained for the huge discounts that were prevalent at that time. Also, making sure that only Genesis owners get the incentive makes the statement that I may not have a Genesis now but if I do buy one I can be sure I’ll get the incentive next time. If I buy a Hyundai I won’t. Just my point of view.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
My lease on my 3rd HYUNDAI GENESIS is just about over. My 2016 has served me well but maybe it’s time to look elsewhere. The real killer for me is that the new “sports” package on the 3.8 has low profile tires which is unacceptable in NYC. The lack of incentives would be the “walk to Lexus” sign.

Appreciate you saying so.

Actually no they aren't, they are Genesis and not produced in any Hyundai owned or operated manufacturing plant. Genesis parent company was once Hyundai but no longer. So I will disagree with you once again. Genesis is a stand alone manufactured brand, not connected to Hyundai.

That's fine you're entitled to but it doesn't change the fact, you're not eligible. There's an old saying; "don't cry over spilled milk," As you have stated already, "at the end of the day," it won't make a bit of difference, what's done is done.

They market to everyone, not just to previous Genesis or Hyundai Genesis customers, which is pretty obvious.

Re. "Actually no they aren't, they are Genesis and not produced in any Hyundai owned or operated manufacturing plant. Genesis parent company was once Hyundai but no longer" Genesis are built in Ulsan's plant #5

A fresh start for Genesis vehicles
The newest facility in Ulsan’s quintet, opened in 2007, builds the Genesis vehicles with which the Hyundai Group aims to take a share of the luxury market not only at home but in the US, China and the Middle East. Genesis was subsumed within Hyundai for many years but spun off as a separate brand in 2015 and its range now includes the G90, G80 and G80 Sport, while the latest model, the G70, was in pilot production when AMS visited in early June. The plant has an annual capacity of 130,000 vehicles and in addition to Genesis models it makes the Hyundai Tucson SUV, including a fuel-cell version in a separate facility. Last year, 87,172 Genesis vehicles were shipped worldwide from Fifth Plant.

In general, the five Ulsan plants are equipped with similar technology, for example machines that are designed to handle multiple different models. However, Fifth Plant pioneered roof laser brazing in late 2015 for the G90 to improve exterior quality, as well as ultimately boosting cost-effectiveness by simplifying the roof mounting process. Laser brazing is not applied to the G80 model, which passes through the station untouched, but it will be performed on the G70 in series production; at the time of AMS’ visit, only pilot cars had been treated in this way. The process is conducted in 30 seconds and within a tolerance of 0.3mm; the roofs are then examined for flaws, but these are found in fewer than 3%, ie only a handful of units. Three checks take place per vehicle, two robotic and one by personnel; double or triple checking to ensure quality is something that Fifth Plant director Hyunwoo Cho (see interview below) regards as a feature of Genesis production.

"Genesis Loyalty or Pull-Ahead programs on a new Genesis". What kind/amount of "bennies" are we talking about here?

I was going to ask the same kind of question. Also, what is a pull ahead program? This is my first time ever leasing.

As far as we know, an existing Genesis receives the same discounts as the competitive discount - $1k for a G70 and $1,500 for a G80. Have not seen anything regarding a G90 but would think it would apply to them also.

A pull ahead is just a way to get people with an existing lease to lease another one. Usually you get to skip the last three payments or so.

That's the Conquest Incentive is it now?
Loyalty is an extra $1,000 at least here in Canada.

Yes, I think they are calling it the Competitive Owner Coupon or something similar. From the info I got you can't use both on the same transaction and the competitive and loyalty are the same amount. That could have changed or be wrong, I have never looked into it as it wouldn't apply to me.

Ah okay. I got both in Canada.

I checked with a salesman (David at Genesis of Springfield) and got some good information:

For this month's (December 2018) Genesis's Loyalty and Competitive promotions, the G90 is not included.

No, you CANNOT combine the 2 promotions on the same sale, even if you own both the Genesis and other luxury brands.

I checked with the manager on whether Hyundai Genesis previous generations would qualify for the Loyalty rebate, and he said yes they do, but not sure on the Equus.

Edit: He sent me another email a short time ago and said that the third one may not be 100% accurate. Check with your dealer to verify that previous generations/Equus qualify.

Edit2: I sent an email to Genesis asking them about the loyalty discount and if it applies to previous Hyundai Genesis's and the Equus. Will update if I hear back from them.

Edit3: Heard back from Genesis Motors but they were no help at all. "Thank you for contacting Genesis Motor America. This program is offered through participating Hyundai/Genesis dealerships. Please contact your local Hyundai dealership for participation inquiries and for more details regarding the program." I replied that since it is a Genesis Motor's incentive they should know the details. If I hear back I will update.

Edit4: They responded but no new information: "We regret to inform you the we here at Genesis Customer Care (GCC) do not have the information you are inquiring about. Our process document for the Loyalty Program states: "The customer should contact their local dealership for complete details." Also since it involves financing or leasing (GCC does not handled the monies involved) you may try speaking to GENESIS MOTOR FINANCE:" I have sent an email to a dealer in MA to see what they say. will post if they respond.

Edit5: Heard back from Herb Connolly Genesis and they said that the loyalty discount does not apply to previous Hyundai Genesis owners or Equus owners. It only applies to Genesis branded vehicles.

I think I ran out of Edits since I no longer have that options. ;). Anyways, I got a follow-up email this morning from David and he verified that only Genesis branded vehicles will qualify for the loyalty discount.

For comparison, I'm pretty sure Genesis Motors Canada offers (or recently offered?) the Loyalty incentives to owners of any Hyundai. This has been mentioned previously in other threads, such as this one:
Hyundai Loyalty Credit

No wonder the retention rates for Hyundai Genesis owners are falling through. Lack of incentives in general but also disregarding hyundai genesis owners as not being genesis owners, what a joke! Giving 1k to other brand owners but not hyundai owners, who are most likely to buy another hyundai or genesis (since they are still being sold under the same roof), just puts another cap to their series of missteps...

I love their cars but they really have the worst management.

This is a bad play from Genesis USA. I've been a Hyundai Genesis owner for 5 years, first with a 2014 Genesis, then with a 216 Hyundai Genesis. My lease will end on April 2019 and I was planning to lease a G70 because I really love how these cars are. I can assure you that no less than 50% of the 2016 Hyundai Genesis leases were planning to lease again another Genesis but being punished and not be recognized as Loyal or conquest owner is shocking to me. At this moment I'm not sure if I will be able to lease the G70 as I was planning to. It's not about the money but about feeling betrayed.

You get a 1% rate reduction.

Verizon, DirectTV and SiriusXM all fail to reward my loyalty...
