Independent Genesis/Hyundai Repair Shops

When looking online for independent shops, you see lots of offerings for every brand (German, Japanese, Scandinavians) except Hyundai. What gives?

When looking online for independent shops, you see lots of offerings for every brand (German, Japanese, Scandinavians) except Hyundai. What gives?

Less need for them given the long warranty given. Oil changes aside, never had reason to go to a shop. Where I live there is one shop that touts MB work but I don't see any others. Less populated than your area too.

Plus, a lot of work on these higher end features require the Hyundai GDS computer to complete the work correctly. I would think the cost of the GDS + computer and the learning curve for the software would be a good reason to pass on Genesis work. In Jacksonville, FL, only one independent repair place advertises they specialize in Hyundai, but they are 40 minutes from my house, so I never have visited them.

For strictly mechanical bolt off/bolt on, most shops can do. It's where the car's computers are involved that a non-Hyundai shop my not be able to do the repair.
