If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all,

This morning I went to Advance Auto Parts to get some new wipers.. I bought the Trico Neoform wipers... They had 8 dollars off a pair. I have bought the Bosch ION for my Honda for the last couple of years....and had good luck. They had a special on the Trico- so I thought I'd give them a try.

Just wanted to warn everyone, if it is important that you not see your wipers when not in use, don't buy these. They stick up about a centimeter. I kinda like how the factory ones tucked completely.

They work soooo much better now. Maybe next time I will look at how tall the blades are.

Thanks for sharing!

I noticed Consumer Reports did a test on wiper blades. The clear winner was some that are called VALEO 600.

I havent replaced mine yet but I figured I would throw in the tid bit of info!

I have to be the only owner on this forum that likes the OEM Wipers, however I keep them clean.

The OEM wipers have done a good job so far. I figure that they are good for a couple of years, at least.

The OEM wipers have been getting a workout over the past couple of days. No complaints, squeaky clean so far.

I have the Valeo wipers on my other cars, they're pretty good too.

nice weather, I replace a set a year thanks to snow/ice.

Two things that kill the rubber wiper inserts are snow/ice or constant exposure to the sun.

Re: Wipers squeaky??

Does any one have a problem with the orginal wipers squeaking? I cleaned the windshield and the wiper blades, no help. Car has 2000 miles on it. Any advise?

Thanks.

Try cleaning the windshield with RAINX- will remove any film that may cause squeaks plus RAINX is the best stuff on earth and you will use the wipers 50% less!

I don't feel the same about Rain-X on the whole windshield. I found in the past that when I used Rain-X, I had to continue using it every so often, otherwise as the old Rain-X wore off, the wiper blades would start to squeek and/or chatter/bounce.

What I now do is I only use the Rain-X at the ends of the wiper swipe, where the scum tends to form, and only when the scum forms. This is normally at the end of the left wiper swipe, next to the "A Piller" and/or at the end of the right wiper swipe, normally right in your line of sight. I squirt a very little on a cloth on my finger tip, and wipe the scum off that part of the windshield. Works great. No chatter/bounce and no scum.

In addition, once in a while, after I have to use the wipers that have not been used in a long time, and when I get streaks in the windshield, I clean the blades again, with Rain-X squirted on a cloth, and wipe off the blades.

One additional thing I do. After use, when I park the car, I push each wiper down towards the front of car, so the blade sits "tilted" toward the up position. I do this because when wipers are shut off, the blades sit toward the down position, and because they sit in that position so long, when the time comes for wiper use, the rubber has taken a "set", and tends to chatter or bounce. By doing these little tricks, my wiper blades last a loooooooong time.

Activate the windshield washer switch when the blades are squeaking. The soap in the fluid acts as lubricant that will reduce the noise. Sometime the squeaking will be completely gone. See if that works for your car.

My OEM wipers just went kaput... Replaced them with RAINX latitudes :) and I'm very happy.

I just bought the Rainx Lattitudes and the adapters do not fit. How did you get them to connect?

IIRC, there are two versions of the Latitude. The second version is identical but includes a few more adapters. The packaging is very slightly different too. Has an additional starblast icon on the front I believe. I almost bought them but they only had the 24" in stock.

I replaced with Trico about a year ago. This year I went with Peak. Seem better, but only time will tell. I put Rain-X on the windows 3-4 times a year.

After playing around I was able to remove the adapter that is connected to the blade and replaced it with big adapter that came in the package. Finally figured it all out and everything is fine. It just some time to visualize before I got it right.

Thanks.

So I'm guessing you used the 24 inch Rain X Latitude wipers. If not what size and was all the pieces in the box ready to install to the Genny.

24" driver's side, 20" on the passenger's side. Yes - all pieces are included. You first have to remove the adapter that comes attached to the blade and replace it with the large adapter that comes included in the package. Then slide it on (bottom first), angle it up, then slide the locking clip and you're good to go.

Hey Mk1, Thanks a whole lot. Now I'm just debating on the valeo 900 series ultimate or the RainX Latitude blades.
