  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

DETROIT, Mich., January 14, 2019 – Today, the Genesis G70 was awarded the 2019 North American Car of the Year. In receiving this highly coveted industry award, Genesis joins leading luxury and mainstream automotive brands to have won the award and stands as the youngest brand to have done so.

“At Genesis, our brand and products must perfectly match our customers’ lifestyles, mindsets and desires,” said Manfred Fitzgerald, Executive Vice President and Global Head of the Genesis Brand. “This award is a testament to the G70, which combines luxury with sports-focused elegance. And now, for the entire Genesis brand, I’d like to thank the North American Car of the Year jury for taking the time to see and experience our design and engineering teams’ intent.”

“For a still-young brand, winning this highly prestigious award, as well as the other significant awards the G70 has collected, will certainly give Genesis a presence boost in the marketplace,” said Erwin Raphael, Executive Director, Genesis Motor America. “We’re thrilled to give more people the opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience the compelling qualities and capabilities the expert NACTOY jurors voted for.” Read more...

The awards keep piling up. Getting harder and harder for me to wait for next year's model.

No doubt they have a great product with all of these top awards being given. BUT there is totally insufficient or non existent dealerships and no inventory. I always thought create a strong dealer base with sufficient inventory and then win awards.. Maybe this is a new way of thinking ????????????

Well it seems that they're now moving as fast as they can on the dealerships. They can't hold off the voting for the awards lol.

you have to admit though it is quite a different business model. If I was in the market for a new car and wanted to get a G90 or G70 or ?? and there are no nearby dealers the question becomes how long do I wait before I go to a different brand. I, for one, wouldn't wait months. would you ??

That depends where you live. For me in the Chicago suburbs, there are 5 Genesis dealers with G70 inventory within 15 miles (and 14 dealers within 50 miles), with a pretty good mix of configurations (as long as you like AWD).

TurtleBoy's count is up to 159 dealers in 30 states, and growing fast.

I also live in the Chicago area and a bit worried that there won't be many 3.3TT RWD Sport models that come onto the used market... 53K is just a bit too much for me to take on, but if it were to be used ones in the low 40s in the next year or two, I could swing it.
