  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I found a module in Korea which connect to LKAS camera and will prevent the annoying warning " Keep hands on steering wheel" which will deactivate the system unless I shake the steering wheel gently.
I bought it and it works very well, however before installation, there are some work to be done, getting a wire harness which has male to female connectors from Amazon or eBay and connecting the module to the harness.
Here is the modules I got

Or you could use the wheel weight method.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Where does this get plugged in? Any pix or videos of the install? Connectors? Etc.

It sounds like a cool ideal to have your Genesis drive for you without the safety reminder. However, do not forget the latest Tesla accidents caused by drivers who let the vehicle autonomous system work without any supervision or fail safes.

Where did you find this module out and how much did it cost?

It plugged in LKAS Cam, behind the rearview mirror.

To access it you have to remove the black cover by following the instructions in Hyundai service manual:

Regarding the connectors,I have learned the hard way that the best option is to get this wire harness:

in comparison, this is my hard work: (Do not do this)

Long story short: I determined to find a way around this issue after I saw video of G70 has LKAS but without the timeout. I found it in Korean website, then contacted friend there to buy it and send them to me.

Regarding the cost, I bought 5 (only 2 left). the average cost for me is around $300 per module.

defeating the safety systems....seems like a terrible idea, would not not even consider it. And having used the LKAS in a 2015 for 4 years now, there is exactly zero chance I would trust it to drive for more than a couple seconds without hands on the wheel.

This seems like a recipe for disaster, lawsuits in 3...2...

Yeah, LKAS only seems to work on perfectly flat, straight roadways. Any grade or curve and it just runs out of bounds.

You can achieve the equivalent of the weight method by hanging a finger on the bottom of the wheel.

You're referring to HDA (Highway Driving Assistance) on the G70 that we don't get in Canada or US. However the regular LKAS depending on ideal conditions can go quite far without warning. Best I have gotten is about 6.5km. Second best I have experienced is 3.7km and the rest of the time were always below 2km total. So I still can't quite determine what the car thinks is ideal conditions!

Oh, I get it you're selling them and you're not even a vendor! So if they don't work or malfunction, no warranty plain as that. Two posts in the forum both on this thread.

Where did you purchase them?:hillarious:

I did my best and found out something I thought it is useful. I shared it so people do not have to redo what is already done. Also, there's nothing wrong about somebody selling thing which he/she lawfully owned.
Regarding where I found them: here is the link, hopefully You will appreciate my efforts

I've wedged oranges between my steering wheel and that works too!
You just need a certain amount of weight or pressure!

Great, then put it in the classified section or become a vendor. Don't make a pretense about promoting or selling them them. Be honest in your intensions.

For $300+ a piece they ought to be self-wired and complete ready for installation. Especially, if you're offering them for the Genesis G70/80. And, the website still doesn't indicate who you actually purchase them from and their actual price.

Plus, hacking the system is a big NO NO, if you're still on warranty.

However, do what you want but this is the same irresponsible technology that takes the place of attention and focus on what you ought to be doing, behind the wheel. That's driving, not talking on the cell phone, drinking, eating or texting. It also gets people killed. The LKAS keys on the lines of the highway and what's coming up in front of you. When one of those lines are worn or breaks for an exit, the LKAS searches for another and generally oversteers to find it. It's not an autonomous system and wasn't meant to be one either.

Fine, put it in the classified section or become a vendor. Don't make a pretense as in attempting to deceive and promote them otherwise.

The circuit boards he posted should be about ₩95,000.

Yea $84.31 at current exchange rate in Korea.:spam::nonono::thumbdown: . So he's looking to make over a 200% profit. $300.00 a piece my arse. The seat heater memory module and auto hold module are @ the Shark Racing website from the same guy for $59.00. What a load of BS! Seen this coming from a mile away.

There's a sucker born every minute but not yesterday, mate. So, either you are spinning a yarn, you got took bad, or attempting to ripoff Genesis Forum members.

First of all,
sorry, it is not for you to decide how people should use their property. If you are closed-minded and believe driving should be the same as 50 years ago, good for you. but make no mistake, the future is in the opposite direction, even Hyundai has realized that in their new models (Tesla is already ahead ).
just to give you a perspective, I am currently working on Openpilot to fully support Genesis

Regarding the cost,

somebody asked me so I shared my experience that what I paid. but you are dishonest and arrogant when you suggested that I want to ripoff others and make 200% profit. THAT IS WHAT I PAID.
and if you know how to get this module at lower cost then please be helpful and share that information rather than make false analogy. if a product is rare, its cost usually higher than popular one

I won't waste more time proving common sense and its up to everybody to decide for themselves.

Have literally been wanting to figure this out. Obviously you can’t trust it that much but is totally worth doing. I thought maybe you could of just done something with the actual steering wheel wiring to trick it into thinking hand was on wheel at all times but this is interesting

The problem is you paid $1500 for a product less than 1/3rd the price. So it's likely you got taken for a ride. The cost of this stuff in Korea is chump change, they build these things easily since they're an engineering based society. It might be rare or cutting edge over here, but there it's considered a normal product amongst many others.

Amen, xx979xx you are a forum spammer and it's been reported as such.

So as much as I want this, after translating the page he linked it appears the cost of the module is approx. 13,000 won, which is about $11.50 USD with shipping maybe $25.
