DRL Not working

Yes? That's just the parking light on these.

And the DRL bulbs are amber and function as turn signals too. Crazy I know.

That is incredibly strange. My DRL is the LED strip along the lens. No other lights are energized. The only time my amber lights are energized is when my turn signal is active.

If it’s dark out, I’ll flip to AUTO and I’ll get dim LED strip, low beam, tail lights. If I flip to park lights, I get bright LED strip, tail lights.

Perhaps that’s the perks of the Canadian models. I dunno. But that’s what happens with mine. There are no amber DRL.

US models during 2015 and 2016 use a stock amber/yellow 2357 bulb for the DRL lights. The LED strip only lights up when the headlights are on. I could be wrong since I only keep my headlights in auto mode, but that is what I noticed.

At first I was bummed out about not having LED DRL until I changed my burned-out stock 2357A bulbs for more darker colored amber ones that stand out pretty good in a sporty way. Now my car actually stands out from all the other cars on the road that use LED DRL strips, which is every 2017+ car now a days.

I see. That makes sense. It's strange the Canada only allows the LED strips for DRL, given Transport Canada's DRL requirements. I would think it would be like the US models.

To save life of the DRL / Turn Signal bulb - is it recommended to keep the light on OFF . Using it on AUTO might lead to blow out of the bulb again .

Or could i request the dealership to try and fit LED.

The wonderful folks at Hyundai service changed both my DRL / Turn Signal bulbs at no cost.
Lights work allright now .
