  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New York 2008: Hyundai Genesis Coupe doing power slides

The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is the new rear-driver that enthusiasts have been waiting for, and the automaker showed the assembled mass of media just how fun its hot new ride is. Hyundai pulled out all the stops at its press conference, including hiring a couple of Hollywood's finest female stunt drivers to unveil what is perhaps its most exciting vehicle ever. Above is video of an impressive array of spin-outs, burnouts and power slides in V6 (Silver) and turbo-four (Red) flavors. This thing is completely hot. Check it out.

UPDATE: Video of actual press conference with execs talking after the jump.

Cool vid. Those girls do nice work. The way they could spin it, looked like they were, somehow, braking the front wheels. Kinda strange.

I've seen it said that this a new chick-mobile.... just a car that women mainly will drive. BUT I disagree. What this will be is the main new tuner car... besides being a sports car for the track.

There should be lots of good things becoming made available for it. From gull-wing doors... to super and turbo-chargers... for the V-6 model. Think of what that could do for the existing 300 horses. That could be real nice.And... carbon fiber hoods, too. The works. It's already set up with great wheels.

Maybe the existing V-8 that is available in the regular Genesis will also become available for the Coup.

Whoever is calling this a Chick Mobile is simply trying to damage the car's reputation before it even goes on sale. It's not a specific car for anyone.

YEAH! It was weired how it "looked like they were, somehow, braking the front wheels. "

WITHOUT a special mod to the car.... just HOW would one actually do like they were doing? Tell me that. COULD one do it by pressing somewhat on the brake and the accelerator peddle at the same time. WOULD that work?

AS FOR THE V-8... I'm wondering if it could be custom fitted in.... making the little car a true Hot Rod. And wouldn't that be cool? And.... hot, too!

I'm not quite sure about the braking, but the v8 in the Coupe - I bet is possible. In fact, I have a feeling Hyundai intends on putting the v8 in at one point or another. Only time can tell for sure..
