  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently bought a used 2009 Genesis as is. Two days after the purchase, the telescopic steering wheel stopped moving in and out like it was doing before. The switch on the side of the column only works going up or down, but it won’t work to make the wheel go in or out. When the ignition is turned off, I can hear a noise coming from behind the dash, like the telescopic mechanism is trying to work but it won’t move. Please help me figure out this problem.

I'm having the same issue. Any help would be amazing

Limit switch or gears worn out. do a search on this forum and you should find the fix info. As I remember it is an expensive fix. sometimes the entire steering column had to be replaced.

Yikes!
Thanks for the info. I'll probably just leave it then.
