  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The DIS button for DVD/AUX always attempts to read the DVD first, is there a way to reverse this?

Annoying when I think I am playing my IPOD but car is hunting for a DVD.

When you going to get a flash driver and rid the IPOD Wally?:D

I would still have the same problem, the button attempts to select the DVD player first.

I like the ipod. I have music on a memory stick but the ipod is better to manage,

yes, you're right...it still wants to select the dvd player first, but it just seems silly to be using an IPOD in a luxury car with a hard drive like it's a Pontiac Sunfire or something:o

All is well though...:)

WOW, sorta harsh, scott. LMAO! So I guess a Zune would be out of the question.......?

Ha:D I'm just giving Wally a hard time. I had an IPOD, and I asked myself, "what am I going to use this for besides running, which I just watch the TV's at the gym anyway?" So I sold it for $75 and now just use Windows Media Player which is great. So I just sync my music on my computer to the flash drive and plug it in the the Genesis and away I go:cool:

Of course a downside to this is there is no way to go to a specific song and the "random" feature doesn't really go from J through Z, but I've adapted to it. Plus my friends would laugh at me if I was using an IPOD in an expensive luxury car. True, since many people buy cars in the $20,000-$27,000 range, then the Genesis is very expensive compared to their base model Accord or Camary, even though it's a bargin compared to the other comparable cars in the Genesis's class.

Well I guess there is no way to reverse the order....

Tinter....

The ipod contains all my cd collection, I am too lazy to copy it all to another device.

When the ipod breaks I will buy whatever techo-gadget offers the most storage and will work in the Genesis....

Large flash drives don't seem to work. I tried a 256 GB drive and it will not recognize it. (I posted this back in feb)...

You had a 256GB thumb drive back in Feb? :O

That must have been pricey!

FWIW, it does recognize a 32GB stick, although folder navigation is painfully slow as has been previously mentioned.

I'm using a 16G which is plenty. Probably too big.

Wally: I understand that you wouldn't change to a flash drive since your whole CD collection is on it. Mine was too, but I only chose about 1-5 songs per CD to put to the flash drive. I had to go though about 300 CD's, but oh well. It's a pain in the ass:)

Say, Scott, I noticed that you and Wally both list Minnesooota for your home base.

FWIW, I lived in Minnetonka for a few winters. Loved the summers, people, fishing, golf......HATED the winters! :(

I had to move back down South....I guess I'm just a candy a$$. :p

I'm thinking about burning a stick's worth of music for gennie. It would seem that 4 to 8 gigs oughta be enough? Do either of you recommend a specific format for recording vs MP3?
