  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm in OR. Finished working out most of the deal with the GM. They're accepting my circle pricing certificate, so I'll get a decent deal (much better than I was planning on!). Problem is that they need me to be there in person to sign for everything, including getting the shipping details worked out. I'll post those details once everything is in writing.

Just purchased my plane tickets. Gonna fly out there on the night of the 24th, arrive on the morning of the 25th, then head back home the night of the 25th. Gonna be a long day. Good thing working 12-13hr night shifts has conditioned my body to be able to deal with horrible drawn out schedules.

The dealer has the car reserved for me, it's sitting in the showroom. I'm so pumped!

Congratulations! Glad you were able to get it all worked out. Travel safely,.

F’ing A !!!! What a story. Congrats man...you will love it!!!

Don’t get tickets driving back.

Did they treat you well? Any concerns about servicing in CO with no dealers (yet)?

Well, here's the deal - I'm not driving it back home due to time constraints. They're going to ship it to me via truck. So I'm actually gonna fly back home first. Haha.

Also, Oregon not Colorado! 😉

Ouch. Two things. You did NOT have to be there to finalize the sale...that’s f**ked.

How much money for the transport?

Yeah, I was considering pushing to do things without having to be there in person; but, when they accepted the circle plan pricing I figured it wouldn't hurt to actually check out the car in person first before committing to shipping given that nice discount. I want to take pictures of the car while in the showroom - that way if it gets damaged during transport I will have proof. Also, I gotta be sure there aren't any weird software/hardware problems before I get it.

They're saying about $1,500 to ship it. It's more than the last out of state dealership I was working with, so there may be some wiggle room.

I think is better to see the car in person before signing any contract. Try contacting some towing companies for price comparisons. Maybe you could save a couple of hundred dollars there.

^ I’d be doing a one-way ticket and driving my new baby home!!!!

^ meh, 2500 miles in the dead of winter from MI to OR is not my idea of the perfect drive in a brand new vehicle, likely with the factory summer performance rubber on it.

I bought t a G37S from a guy in MD, and i live in Vancouver BC. 5000+ kms. The guy offered to fly me out so i could drive it home. Adding up fuel, lodgings, wear and tear, food, and most importantly my time, shipping it out made way more sense for the $1500 (CAD) that it cost me.

We’ve had a freak warm stretch this past week. Got the “spring” bug...threw my logic off 😜

I can't wait to get back on summer tires. I have 1,900km to go for my service but I'm going to have to borrow my wife's car for work so that it hits 10k km at the end of March so I can get wheels swapped at the same time!
