  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Build Dates

Driving through Montana or Wyoming and Idaho in the winter with summer tires? I'm with Todd and paying for transport.
I'd consider it if the timing was right. Certainly would check the 10 day forecast along the way before setting out and be sure it was clear sailing. A couple of days after a storm the interstates are clear, but one pop up storm can put you in a motel for a couple of days.

It is not only the storms, I think just the cold temps could make driving on those summer tires dangerous.

So I always thought so too but Engineering Explained did a video on winter tires vs summer tires on below freezing dry pavement and it showed that summer tires still stopped better even though they hardened. But it probably wrecks the tire much faster!

Huh. Good info, I didn't know that. Keyword is dry pavement, though.
