Does anyone still have their downloaded Android Auto/CarPlay update file?

Apparently Hyundai pulled the free Android Auto / CarPlay firmware update from MyHyundai. Even worse, they took down the updateaccess.hyundai.com server that used to host those update files. Seems like the only way to get Android Auto/ CarPlay update now is to pony up for the $145 mapnsoft update, which is ironic since we'd do it to get rid of the mapnsoft map in the first place. Given that, at least based on the previous Sonata update findings, these files are not VIN-specific and/or encrypted (probably because they don't have any precious proprietory map files), it seems reasonable that any update downloaded previously for any other DH (except the Ultimate, of course) might still work.

So, could those of you fellow Genesis owners that did the update themselves check their Downloads folder for something like dh15avn.exe (or .dmg if on a Mac)? (I'm reverse-engineering the naming schema there though, the name could be slightly different)

I'm with you in that. I found out the same thing from Hyundai Canada. Hoping to see if someone till has the download file if it's not VIN specific, which I don't see why it would be. I've got the non jog dial version as well so I'm hoping someone has the download, exe or DMG version.

AFAIK for the Sonata, using the US update file for Canadian Sonatas resulted in some problems with audio and made it impossible to further update the firmware, so I'd be weary of using the US Genesis file (in case someone does manage to find it) on the Canadian Genesis.

Sorry to ruin your hopes, but the (important) files are encrypted based on an 8 character VIN segment and stuffed in a ZIP file. So it's unlikely that the Genesis update for one VIN will work for anyone else.

I suspect what you're saying is only applicable to mapnsoft updates (the paid ones). Nobody seems to have had any problems using the same shared file from updateaccess.hyundai.com to update their Sonatas (a link to which was posted all over the interwebs a couple of years ago when the update just came out). Downloading that update did not require a VIN, so it could not have possibly been VIN-specific. I'm hoping it was the same for the Genesis.

If you're buying from a dealer, make the update part of the deal. If from a private party & they don't have the download already installed, adjust the price accordingly.
