  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I use my ipod in my Genesis utilizing the optional Hyundai ipod usb cable, my question is, has anyone noticed that when you start your car, the ipod starts playing from the first song on your play list automatically. It doesn't matter what I was listening to before, it will just start playing by itself. I even exchanged it for a new one thinking it was the cable itself, but still does the same thing. I have played with the settings on the ipod itself, but to no avail. Any ideas?

My ipod plays from the point of last play (mid song). Which ipod do you have?

I have a nano (2 gen)...

I have an iphone and it always starts on the first song in my song list. The only way i know to fix is to start the ipod/iphone where you want it strart before connecting

I see that the descriptions of the Hyundai cable say that it's not been qualified on the iPhone, probably because it was too new when the cable was developed.

Although I hold out hope that a new version will come out, given that it's head-end controlled, it would probably take firmware updates to improve the iPod/iPhone control :(

I've noticed the same thing. I leave my iPod plugged in all the time, so I believe what's happening is that when I start the car, it boots up the iPod, and as soon as it comes online it starts playing (even if you've got the radio on). I think it says in the manual that whenever you plug something into the AUX plug, it'll start playing automatically, overriding anything else.

My iPhone always gives the message that it's "not compatible" and asks if I want to go into Airplane mode. Tapping "no" removes the nag and all is well...

Until yesterday. Using the normal routine of starting in shuffle mode then connecting, I'm not getting any sound through the speakers. The phone/iPod is obvioulsy connected because I see my playlists, songs, genres, etc, and the time of the song playing is progressing too. Just no sound. Well, I CAN hear some faint noise through the speakers.

I'm thinking it's maybe the cable, but, if it is, I'd think my library wouldn't show in the display. Anyway, I'll stop at the dealer and try a different cable to either confirm or not. If it is the cable, I'm pretty sure they'll give me a new one no questions asked.
