That's funny, I took a look at a couple of dealers in both Seattle and Portland but I guess I chose the wrong ones. One of the dealers (I forgot which one) didn't even have the G70 as a model on their website.

Genesis of Vancouver is the closest to Portland. Genesis of Bend is another. Closer to Seattle you have Genesis of Everett. Also, I thought Genesis of Renton was a thing...but I could be wrong. The former 3 all have multiple G70's in stock, all of which I think are AWD.

Yesterday Genesis of Skagit was issued a dealer code. I think the dealer is in Burlington.

Probably right about no "True" Genesis dealers in Seattle. However, I stopped at Hyundai of Everett a couple of days ago and they had 3 G70's on the lot. Great looking ride, but TOO small for me. Small trunk and very little legroom in the back seat. Saving grace with the trunk is that the back seats fold down. However, sitting in the drivers seat felt fine. IMO, a great ride for a single person or a couple without kids. I thought I wanted one until I saw them. Now I'm more than happen with my '18 G80 Sport.

PS I don't see how a true standalong Genesis dealer could make it although that might not be true if Genesis could put 10 SUV's on their lot along with 5 G70's and a few G80 and G90s to boot.

Definitely not the right size for everyone. Though it works well for me and I have a small family. My daughter's forward facing convertable car seat fits just fine (and it's pretty big). If it were rear facing I would have to use the middle seat. Also, we are going to have another baby.

I think interior space is somewhat subjective. For me, the size of the G70 is perfect. For others, it's simply too small.

You are confusing standalone dealers with the new Genesis dealers. There currently are no standalone dealers (as defined by not associated with a Hyundai dealer) in the US as far as I know but there are currently three Genesis dealers in Washington. Two with inventory and one that was issued their dealer code yesterday. Vancouver, Everett and Skagit

You are confusing Hyundai dealers that can sell pre-2019 Genesis models with the newly franchised Genesis dealers that can sell the 2019s. The only Genesis dealers in Washington are the ones I mentioned. There is only one Genesis dealer in Oregon and that is Bend.

No, not a terminology difference at all. Everyone looking for a car better know the difference or they will not be getting a 2019. You CAN NOT buy a 2019 Genesis from a Hyundai dealer, they can only be sold by a franchised Genesis dealer. Currently there are no standalone Genesis dealers in the US, they are all co-located with Hyundai dealers. Try using the dealer locator on the Genesis website and you will see only Genesis dealers show up not all Hyundai dealers in the area.

Knowing how to find who has them is the purpose of the discussion, so that is my intent to demonstrate. Not every Hyundai dealer sells genesis, and not every genesis dealer has a genesis website because they are just a Hyundai dealership with a genesis license. That was my point.

Genesis of bend is selling the cars, but they do not operate a stand alone genesis experience from what I can tell, and I've had correspondence with them. They act and feel like Hyundai dealership that happens to sell Genesis cars. Google "Genesis of bend", you get a Hyundai web page. Google "genesis of Vancouver", you get a genesis website. It is confusing. It took me a while to figure out the relationships lacking the back story.

At the Vancouver genesis, you would never know they had anything to do with Hyundai, different email domain, different website, all of the process to imply and function as a separate business. If I call the genesis of Vancouver office and ask questions about an Accent, I fully expect to be told to call a different number. If I call the bend dealership and ask the same questions, I have no doubt he'll make the sale on an Accent.

Any website can make searches link to them by including the right keywords. Means nothing. As far as I can tell, there are only old model Hyundai/Genesis cars on the site. Nothing listed from 2017 on. It’s a Hyundai dealership that happens to have some used (not new) Hyundai/Genesis inventory. If you call them and ask about a 2017, 18, or 19 Genesis they won’t have a clue.

Most if not all Genesis (not Hyundai/Genesis) dealers are not stand alone, meaning there is a detached sales area. However, they will likely have a separate Genesis area with new Genesis inventory. So don’t confuse Genesis dealers with Hyundai/Genesis dealers. They are as different as night and day.

Sorry didn't realize that, your previous posts were mentioning stand alone Genesis dealers (which there is no such thing), the level of inventory they have (amazing), a unique definition of a Genesis dealer, a geography lesson, a refusal to consider the information presented and that you can buy Genesis at Hyundai dealers. I've been to Genesis of Vancouver. It's a Hyundai building. Their G70's are parked outside, and inside they have Konas and Santa Fe's. They told me that eventually they will have a separate showroom for Genesis vehicles which will be in the building already attached to the Hyundai building, but as of right now they are all physically housed under the Hyundai name. But you are right, Vancouver are making a bigger effort to have separate marketing and branding (and soon they will have a separate-but-attached Genesis building). They have salesmen specifically for Genesis now. Even so, despite that, I've had a much better sales experience with Bend vs Vancouver. For me, Bend staff have been MUCH more helpful in regards to Genesis products.

How internet customers are supposed to find these cars is beyond me, it's not well implemented. This is the point of my discussion, how to find all inventory, not just dealers with a dedicated franchise "Genesis website" inventory.

Conclusion, if you are searching for cars in inventory, you have to do a lot of backdoor searching, front pages won't usually reveal what is available. Some present as "stand alone genesis dealers", others sell genesis cars within their Hyundai website, but you have to use filters in the search to find them. This is not exclusive to Bend, I've seen it in many many sites across the country as I searched for a specific model/color for 2 months and gave up.

If you search genesis dealers in Oregon and zoom out to see the whole state, 14 show up, but only one of them (Bend) sells them new now in Oregon that I can tell, so knowing how to optimize results is important.

Wow I didn't intend on this level of angst. I did end up finding some by using the earlier suggestion of using Cars.com and Cargurus.com and just searching nationwide. That accomplished my goal of wanting to see where prices are (for now ).

No angst on my side, I was just hoping to share my discoveries about how to optimize results. Half the inventory seems to be "hidden" if you don't know how Genesis corporate has them marketed, and how google searches work at this moment in time.

Got it. I was looking for new 2018's at the time, those 3 dealers only have 2018's, not 2019's. When I started my search ~3 months ago there were very few 2019's anywhere, mostly new 2018's and new 2017's.

It's unfortunate that Genesis has had such a confusing marketing setup in the US, in terms of dealerships and the separation (or lack thereof) from Hyundai. I can see how complicated just trying to figure out which dealers are going to sell and service the 2019's and beyond for the average consumer (ie one who hasn't spent countless hours nerding out in this forum).

Hopefully in the next year or so things will be much more clear.
