  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,

I have brought it to the Dealer, and they could not replicate nor discover the electrical issue I am facing. It's not consistent, but when I turn the car off, all the electricity would sometimes just go off immediately - steering wheel doesn't go back, radio shuts off, analog clock resets to 0, and the MPG resets to 0 as well. This is resolved by opening the door and closing it back. HOWEVER, it has gotten to a point where opening the door doesn't reset the electronics, and I've been stranded. I was hoping one of you could maybe pinpoint the issue here.

Check the battery and terminals.

I had the same problem and the problem was the positive battery connector box (little black box connected to the +).

Next time your problem happens, don't close your door and try to hit that box softly with something hard (not your hand). Vibrations will most probably fix the bad contact and you will be sure that's the real problem.

When you shut your door it causes a small vibration.

Tell us if it works!

Good luck!

This works! But this does not seem like a permanent solution, as it happens again the next engine shut off. How has your experience been like?
