If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

HPP Extended Warranty

I bought my 2015 Genesis 3.8L AWD Ultimate Package from Liberty Hyundai with Platinum HPP warranty for $1490. 10yr/100k/0 deductible

I guess I could try to call them, although if you got the warranty when you bought the car, that might make a difference.

One thing I noticed was that there's a 10/100k warranty and (I think) a 7/75k warranty, but the latter is "from today" while the former is "from the initial sale" or something like that. And several places I've spoken with have quoted over $4000 for the 10/100k, while the 7/75k was around $2500

BE CAREFUL! I verified everything with Hyundai corporate before buying my warranty to make sure that it's legitimate. You DO NOT want a dealership warranty, you want the official Hyundai warranty. The 7/75k looks like a dealership one because I've read through all the material and never saw that come up.

Too much for either. You need to negotiate for the employee discount on the 10 year Platinum Warranty. The employee discount will bring it to around $1500. If you don't ask they won't tell you either. Keeping in mind the financier is paid the same bonus no matter.

If you're not getting satisfaction through the dealer, contact Genesis Support. They also might be able to provide assistance getting a discount.

I bought a 15 Ultimate AWD last month with 15,800 miles on it. I stopped by a nearby Hyundai dealer yesterday to get prices on the extended warranty for 10 years, 100,000 miles. The finance manager told me that specific warranty is only available to the first owner. The longest coverage she said I could get as the 2nd owner would be 6 years, 85,000 miles. That would only cover me for 1 year or 25k miles past the factory warranty. Do any of you know if a second owner can get the Hyundai 10 year 100,000 mile warranty? I'm a little concerned because of all the electronics on the car and the short 3 year, 36k mile warranty on the radio. I'd like to have the extra coverage.

Sounds like BS to me. But we're all getting different answers from the dealers. My local dealer said that there are 5/6/7/8/etc year Hyundai warranties that you can get, besides the 10/100k or 120k one

Never heard of the 120K warranty from any Hyundai Dealer that was selling an actual Hyundai extended warranty?

Yeah it's interesting to me how many different answers dealerships have given us so far. There are 5 dealerships within 20 miles for me. I stopped by another one and the finance manager said that they don't sell the HPP 10 year warranty. He said that some dealers sell it and some don't. He offered an extended warranty through Fidelity.

A lot of the warranties are 12,000/year ones. Like the 3 year/36k mile or 5 year/60k mile. Some people have reported a 10 year/120k extended warranty. I could be mis-remembering, though.

When we purchased ours for our G80, there wasn't any higher available. So I'm questioning why it's not offered by Genesis or Hyundai. I believe this is a misunderstanding. The European and Canadian market Genesis and Hyundais have a 120 km warranty which is right at 75K for both. I don't believe either market has a 10/100K warranty offered only the US market.

A FL dealer quoted me a CPO wrap policy through "US Warranty". Anyone familiar with this company? Is this what Hyundai dealer usually use?

I recently bought a 10/120,000 Hyundai Platinum warranty (with $50 deductible per claim) for $1,695. Covers my brand new ‘19 Santa Fe. I routinely pass on my cars to my Son, so this protection is important to me. For example, if I give him the vehicle when it is 4 years old, he’ll still have 6 years and about 80,000 left on the extended warranty. Not too shabby for a used car. Likewise, my ‘12 Genesis is covered by a 10/120,000 warranty that expires in 2024 (!), or 80,000 miles from now. That car seems destined for one of my grandchildren in a couple of years.

Yeah I just found out they dropped it in October

After calling all dealers in the thread, it looks like that quotes for 7/100k are $3200+ for 2015 3.8 with 45000 miles. Is this the new normal? Or should I keep looking?

After talking to Hyundai today about the CPO wrap coverage, they said the dealer just punches in the VIN and the computer tells them what's available for your particular car. He said they don't have a choice when it comes to selling an HPP.

The CPO warranty is offered by Hyundai dealers on some used cars. You don’t buy it per se. The Hyundai extended warranty is another animal. You buy that warranty in the dealer’s finance office. I had both on my ‘14 Santa Fe which I passed on to my Son recently. I transferred the extended warranty to him for $50.

I wasn't clear. I was in fact talking about the extended warranty that you purchase separately. I still find it odd that not all Hyundai dealers sell the actual HPP but instead opt to only offer third party warranties. More lucrative I suppose. Well, except when they run into people like me who won't purchase third party warranties and just go to another dealer and purchase an HPP from them.

^ Got some clarification (or more confusion) from another dealer this morning about the CPO wrap. The first dealer said 6/100, but the second dealer said that's not an option for a CPO. According the him, the CPO only comes in 10/100 and 10/120 flavors. The CPO brochure you can find online seems to back up the 10 year time span. It doesn't say anything about a 6 year option.

EDIT: Two other dealers have now told me it's only 10/100 or 10/120.

May I ask the prices you are seeing? I just thought I had a deal secured but the finance manager switched it to a third-party provider. I would much rather have the Hyundai CPO. I might have to follow in your footsteps soon.
