There was a good spot on the state line where I could easily hit triple digits, but not long enough for much more. Top was 125. Before increasing speed I had to be sure the CT police were not at the start, then had to slow before cresting the hill where the MA police often sat.Hi everybody,
I was very curious to know what is the top speed of my car. I finally got a chance to test it. I could reach 234km (145 miles). Despite of having the rpm at 5400 at that speed I couldn’t increase the speed more! What is your top speed?

140mph so far, but it was on factory all season tires. Now, that I have my summer set of Michelin PS4s on, I'll drive to Mexico and see if I can hit 160 or whatever, lol
Actually, it'll have to wait....I'm taking 2 weeks off. It's time to go see some jets flying thru the Rainbow Canyon in Death Valley

Better make sure you have a gas station about 25 miles ahead as you were burning 5.3 MPG. Looks like you may have 5 gallons in the tank.140mph so far, but it was on factory all season tires. All you guys are driving the wrong cars, try Porsche's, Mercedes AMG, or BMW M cars instead they are designed for that speed. As a grown up did you ever consider what would happen if you blow a tire?
It is not just car but the tire that make high speed driving safe or not. Most modern late model cars like our Genesis have suspension and brake setups that are superior to some of the earlier (1990-early 2000) performance cars you mentioned which surpassed the claimed top speeds posted in this thread on older technology just fine. All you guys are driving the wrong cars, try Porsche's, Mercedes AMG, or BMW M cars instead they are designed for that speed. If I wanted a high speed, high stress drive, I'd hop on my superbike and hit the highway at over 300kph (186mph). Now that is flying.
In England all motor cycle riders are required to wear body suits with steel mesh, even then, having seen one or two bike accidents, personally I preferred not to get picked up as a bag full of jelly, at least for any adrenaline induced speed.
However, I admire all the other people that are able to enjoy that thrill.

Actually they are not required to wear suits in the UK but it is strongly suggested that appropriate clothing, footwear and eyewear are worn. Only helmets are required.
Do you have to wear proper motorcycle gear?
Please note, that I did not mentioned the word ‘law’, but perhaps I should have been more descriptive in my comment.
At least when I left almost 20 years ago, if someone has a bike accident and they where not wearing ‘protective gear’? their insurance claim can be limited or in rare cases denied altogether. The insurance companies pretty much insisted these items to be used, as part of lowering the premium trick, at least in and all around London.
Sooo, ‘protective clothing’ was ticked, the ‘rider’ was not wearing those items when the accident happened = insurance claim denied (depending on circumstances)
From the posted article:
“some or all of your injuries could have been avoided through wearing proper kit, your claim for damages could be reduced by up to 25%.”
Not going down that rabbit hole, so thank you for your observations. You may take my post in whichever context you wish to understand it, that will make you happySo you agree that your post was incorrect, they are not required. Thanks.![]()
