  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Only rarely do my lights go off now after I shut off my 2010 sedan, and the dealer doesn't seem to have a good clue as to why. I have to rotate the light switch to off, then back to on so they will come on automatically when next needed. The failure to go off has drained my battery once already. Any hints as to where we should start looking for an answer?

What actually shuts them off? If a relay with timer, I'd replace it. Dealer tech should know what it is. Sure, it may check OK at that moment but at least once it failed.

I had a similar issue with my 2010 awhile back. Ended up being the sensor mounted on the dash that controls the auto function for the lights. I traded the car in on a 2016 a few weeks ago or I'd snap a pic and post it. I'd bet that's your issue. Mine headlights would come on and off randomly when I left it on the auto setting. The warranty I purchased covered it.
