  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The rear roof spoiler seems to stick via 3m tape. Thats fine.
How is the LED Supposed to work ? Where to get the power supply so that its synced to the car brake.

Its on ebay - but they do not mention any instructions.

I believe it is the OEM LED that is there lit up under the wing and reflecting off the top of it

I got the answer from the seller . Its looks a bit crazy - specially when i see the drill on the glass in the 2nd picture.

That is not a drill, that is a heat gun.

Steps seem fairly simple

1. Clean surface
2. Heat area up
3. Position wing
4. Peel off double sided tape
5. Apply pressure to wing to ensure adhesion
6. Run power wires along side of glass; lift seal up and run wire thru/under
7. Tap into brake OEM wires
8. Viola!!!

brake not break..

however, having had a 3m tape mounted window wing on my Chrysler 300C and have it fly off at highway speed and smack the car behind me, I will never put one on my car again.

Have’ta agree with Mr.I !

I had a rear window spoiler, and there shouldn't be any LEDs on the wing itself. Rather, there's a cut-out on the underside of the wing so that it doesn't block that existing OEM LED brake strip. But, to add what someone already said, the 3M tape alone WILL NOT hold the wing for very long. Mine started coming off after a few months. The wing is going to need some molding at the ends, as well, as something extra in addition to the 3M to adhere REALLY well. I've had my roof spoiler in the closet since last summer, and will be putting back on this summer. WISH ME LUCK!

the problem with the 3m mounting style is the heat from the sun on the glass will melt the adhesive and it will loosen or come off. made worse by the fact that it is so large of area and the spoiler is flexible so not all of the tape actually makes contact with the glass surface.

there are adhesion promoters that are supposed to help make the adhesive stronger and stick better, and the heat gun also helps promote the adhesion, but again the sun and time will cause it to peel back up.
