Transmission flush 2011 Genesis 4.6

My warranty just ran out since the day i purchased her and i have right now 92.5k mielage and its time for its FIRST transmission fluid change and im going with Redline D6 since Shell1375.4 is so damn hard to find and the dealers seem to be at lost or dont care or better yet looking to rob everyone.....

At the prices listed here for the fluid or fluid and kit, I'd spend the $30 beforehand to see if it did, in fact, need to be replaced. Wow.

The 4.6L uses the ZF transmission and the trans fluid needs to meet the Shell M1375.4 spec.
Lots of brands meet that spec. Amsoil, Amalie, etc., etc. @ $10-$14/quart.
Just find a trans fluid you prefer and see if it meets the M1375.4 spec and use it.

Yea we have a 38' motorhome that has a Cat diesel engine and an Allison 6-spd "World" automatic transmission. It, too is VERY particular about what fluid you put in it. TES-295 compliant only.

The problem is, his Genesis takes neither of those. It takes Shell 1375 ZF Lifeguard fluid, which does list at $76.90/qt. Dealers are welcome to charge whatever they want for it, but Hyundai suggests $76.90.

Good god just buy the recommended zf6 fluid on eBay for 20 bucks a liter.....jeeezzz

Do ya think ...how about the recommended zf6 lifeguard ...made for this trans!!!!!..20 bucks a liter.....give me a break! Doesn’t any body do any research!!!!!!!!!. Go ahead and pay 75 bucks a liter....dealers will charge you that because major tranny service includes just pan and drain refill....they charge for 10 liters for this and that’s a fact!!!!!!!!!!

My baby still runs great with that Redline in it and about to change both my oil cooling tubes part # 25476-3M100 & 25476-3M200 because of a leak and will lose some transmission fluid during the job , so I'm going to flush it and place some new D6 redline back in there.....

Hey guys. I bought a 2011 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 about a year ago. The car only has 16,000 on it and is shifts fine.
Any opinions on whether I should change the AT fluid or not? The car came from New Mexico, so a dry climate, and is now in Southern California.

It wouldn't hurt to have it done, but I doubt it's necessary. I would be more concerned with your coolant and especially the brake fluid, if those haven't been flushed yet. Brake fluid absorbs water over time, and should be changed every couple/few years.

On a 13 year old low miles car, I would recommend: 1) transmission dump and fill to replace about 1/3 of the fluid. 2) oil and filter change. 3) brake fluid flush. 4) coolant flush. 5) rear differential oil change.
