i need help (sowtware update for genesis 2015 base)

My 2015 v13 update was easy. Download to existing SD card. Install card in car and update.
Took a while to download to SD. No USB stick needed.

I copied the sd to a 16 gig USB stick. The 2015 install instructions clearly state the a USB stick may be necessary if the update button is grayed out, which it was for me.
Here is a quote from the install instructions. It may apply to early 2015 builds and my maps and sw were original, never updated.

"NOTE: (2015 Model) *If “UPDATE” button is gray, insert USB in USB Slot"

but i need software... how to update i think i understand, its look simly)

$145 to get android auto and car play alone is a good deal in my opinion. In fact, I am jealous because I can't get that for any amount of money in my 2016 ultimate!

The 2015 ultimate installs firmware and map updates from a USB stick not the sd card. You need both the sd card and the USB stick. Just copy the sd card to an 8 gig or larger USB stick, insert both, and go to the UPDATE screen, and press the UPDATE button. By the way the 2015 and 2016 ULTIMATE cannot support android auto or apple car play.

Hello,
I recently bought the 2015 Genesis 5.0L Ultimate. I want to update the software for the Apple car play. when I checked the SW Info in the car the (MAP VER. NAM.07.47.65.501.001) is shown on the screen with the update button.

Can anyone help me to do that?

Only Hyundai can, but they wont.
It will be easier for you to sell your ultimate and buy a standard with 8" screen option

Hey can you do me a favor and tell me your s/w versions? I recently updated my maps from v6 to v13 no problem, but I think I'm missing the s/w firmware update. I now understand I have to copy the sd card to a usb stick and update the s/w firmware that way, but why? What's changed with the s/w?
I can't seem to find any type of changelog or release notes for the firmware s/w of the 9 inch Jog Dial system other than what comes with the map updates (fixing bugs, adding 3d maps/buildings, ). Like the touch only, 8inch screen version got android auto and car play, but what has changed in the jog dial premium versions?
Zape and Andyj, did you notice anything different in your JogDial DIS other than the map and navigation updates?

First picture is before, second is with v13 sd card. Everything seems to be working so I might just leave it with DH.USA.SOP.10.002 since the sd card is cloned and not from mapnsoft, NAVI went from 2014 to 2019, lol.

The old software does not automatically update from the SD card.
That's why they ship the USB stick too. You need to simply copy the content of the SD card over to an USB stick and then update will start (or you can manually hit the update button)

The only thing I noticed (and did not like) is after the update the rotating of the JogDial will not immediately switch the station, and you have to first rotate it and then push the dial.

Oh, bummer, even on an HD station, you have to click to go to another multicast? Or you mean when you're looking at the radio frequency dial?
sounds like I shouldn't even do the s/w usb update.
I've found very little changed to the DIS s/w other than a few words here and there and what you mentioned; for example, your agreement screen button says 'confirm', mine says 'agree'... lol

I have a 2015 Genesis Sedan that I was able to update to version 13. I had to used the provided OEM SD card, use the MNSoft software, and pay for the upgrade ($145 USD) from MNSoft. I was also able to use a non-OEM SD card in the Genesis after doing a bit for bit image of the OEM SD card and cloning it to the non-OEM SD card. It takes about the same time to load the navigation with the new 170 mb/s SD card compared to the OEM card.

Only difference that I noticed with the new version (13) is the last device that you use for music starts up when you start the car. It used to default to Sirus XM. Don't really think it was worth it to upgrade.
