  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all,
My Genesis is 125k
Previous owner did tranny service at 60k.
I guess now is time to do service again.

Went to dealer #1 and they quoted me 310 for service. When I asked if it will include gasket and strainer , he said - yes. Same place checked out priced for material, whole list came out 395!)))) same list of parts from www.hundaypartsdeal.com came out 165!. lol

This morning called to dealer #2 . They quoted 235 . When I asked if strainer (filter) will be replaced, they said “NO, just connecting machine to fluid lines and while draining old fluid , adding new “

What do you guys think?

Probably first one will do the same? But for 310 vs 235.

Buy the parts yourself, get it serviced at an independent shop

Did you get the service done? If so, could you please share info on the route you took? I am looking to get a transmission service on my 09 as well.

Yes I did.
Parts 9 quart of fluid , 1 pan gasket, 1 oring, 1 filter. Parts cost me around 150sh.
Labor local family mechanic charged me 150.
They removed pan, drained oil, replaced filter, put new gasket and pan back. Filled with fluid, drove around and added fluid. (That is what they told me).
So, from 9 bottles, 1/2 left.
Filter was clean, fluid was ok. As previous owner did tranny service at 60k .
