Pay $$ for Carplay???

ive Been through this and they would not update map on my certified even though they were out of date... certified means very little I’ve learned.

My guess is the CPO checklist is flown over with an ink pen and everything checked off as "good" or "done" by a 16 year old and the car is stuck out on the lot.

Just wondering, is there something on the checklist that says nav maps are up to date? Or that any of the parts are up to the latest version?

I have to check my CPO paperwork tonight, because I bought my car in January, have put 6,000 miles on it, and the local dealer just told me that my ties have less than 2/32" tread. Ill check for to see if there is anything about the nav system on the CPO paperwork and (try to remember to) report back! I am still Carplay-less and very sad about it :-(

And I rarely use Carplay even though I paid for the upgrade. Thought it was cool at first but it doesn't do anything that the car didn't already (for my needs).

I just ran into the same issue I tried to get the software after finally getting the vin released into my name, I had to go to the dealership to get it done since none of the automated systems worked.

Does anyone have the old file I can download it was free for some time but now they want to charge for it since they changed the policy in January.

The myhyundai link points me to MnSOFT where I have to pay 175 to download the software. I have no use for the maps I just want to have android auto. Even if I wanted to pay for it they are not offering it right now until mid April due to a new update coming out.

Did you end up getting the software update? I'm having a similar issue, just bought a used 2016 Sonata, but no Android Auto.

anyone who downloaded the software that has CarPlay update from MyHyundai, I assume you may have that software on your SD card. Would you be kind and please upload a copy of that SDcard to this drive? Since it is VIN agnostic, would like to give a try. Just want to try out the CarPlay. ( not much interested in maps but i guess it is all part of that update)

******Edit: created this Form Google File Upload by CTRLQ.org to make the upload easy. Just need to zip that sdcard filder into a zip file and upload that file using this web form. i hope it is not a big pain. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I have noticed that. What I’m specifically requesting for is a copy of the SD card that everyone (who upgraded) already have with them rather than the downloaded files. I’m confident that the Download file (.exe) is only used to download the actual software, unzip it and write the software to the SDcard. I have been thru this process with my other cars and having that SdCard/USBdrive would just work fine any number of cars that fit that model.

hoping someone would upload and I’ll gladly try it on my car and keep you posted if that works or bricks my unit. I’m not a big fan of the HID unit or the features in my 2016 Genesis anyways.

You will have to change the extension txt to exe

Really appreciate posting this. this gave a perspective on how it works. The exe file is trying to contact the old web server to retrieve the software which seems to have been taken offline as part of this move to mapnsoft. Do you happen to have your SDcard which the CarPlay update? If so, would you upload a copy of you SDcard please?

FWIW it wasn’t a move to mapnsoft, as Far as I know it’s always been mapnsoft.

there was some lag in the bi-annual updates when Hyundai and Genesis split and the free update was offered until all of that was squared away. At least that is how I understood the issue.

Any updates here? My 2016 3.8L (non-ultimate version) did not come with Apple Carplay (I think the previous owner never took the time to install it). When I log into MyHundai, the download link no longer exists. I have used the contact section to ask if I an get this link but no one has responded. Were you able to get an uploaded file on the website you made? If so, can I get a copy....not sure what else to do to get the install file? Any ideas?

Indeed. The only thing that I miss on my Ultimate is having Waze mirrored on the display on a long trip...

sending you a copy will do no good. Each card is serialized and the software inside is also tied to that particular serial. You can't just copy between cards.

The initial manufacturer provided provided SDcard from another vechicle worked fine. Not sure if this may have changed after MapNSoft started rolling out the software that may (or may not ) be Vin specific. hence I’m curious to try the software release that someone may have got it from MyHyundai (and not form MapNsoft) and that had CarPlay.

one other thing I’ve noticed while trying to order the software via MapNsoft with the sdcard option (haven’t completed placing the order though) is, it is not asking for any VIN number. may be someone who may ordered the sdcard can comment if VIN was ever asked at anytime .

The SD card from another vehicle worked fine because the serial on the card and the data on the card matched. There's not a restriction other than the specific model of nav system.

Could be worse... You could have the Ultimate 2015-2016 9.2" jog wheel setup where AA/CP are unavailable @ any price.

I specifically avoided the Ultimate for that reason! It's a bummer too, because that HUD and everything else is pretty sweet... But I spend about 1.5 hours a day in the car and am using Waze constantly.
