  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those of you who live in states that require a front plate, here is what I use.

I asked the dealer not to drill any holes for the factory mount. I use plate holders that utilize the tow hook bung.

For the G70, I used one from CravenSpeed. I have nothing to do with the company just passing my impressions. Top notch quality, laser or water waterjet cut billet. Even the box it came in was top notch lol. Came with a little wrench for the tight spot tightening of the bracket bolt, stainless button head screws, and a solid, billet tow hook bolt.

Looks good. Can you adjust the horizontal angle at all?

Does it block the front sensors at all?

No. Their ad indicates this as well. I installed it upside down originally and it did block. It should lay over the grill when installed correctly. I had to bend/pull it out slightly to fully clear the grill.

Nice. I'm liking this more and more.

It's a really nice, high quality product and beats drilling holes to mount a dumb plastic bracket in the center of that nice grille. A bit pricey though.

I've used similar brackets on my other cars just not from this company.

Someone has posted in the past that no holes are needed to mount the front plate bracket on the G70 and that if you want to remove the mount, it can be done without changing the look (i.e. no holes exposed). Can someone please verify that?
Personally I don't care for the side mount of this bracket as it throws off the balanced look of the car.

^ that is correct. The mounting holes were cleverly recessed. So if you pull it off...the holes are pretty much hidden. If you are super anal and stare back there...you might see them. But plenty of products out there to hide them if you really wanted.

I agree. Now seeing the entire front in the photo above, I'm not sure what advantage the side mount has over the center mount plate, other than to make the front of the car asymmetric.

No holes? Anyone know how the stock bracket mounts? I just assumed that holes would need to be drilled into the bumper behind the grille.

When I picked up my car I was asked if I wanted the front plate put on which in NY is required. I said no the car looks just right the way it is. The salesman agreed with me and told me that many people with the Genesis cars do the same and the ones he knows have never been asked unless they are stopped for some other violation and they start a close inspection of the car. I’ve been driving it for 2 months and haven’t been stopped once. The salesman did give me a plastic mount and said if you do have to put it on attach this bracket first. So the bracket gets mounted to spots behind the grille made for it and the plate goes on top.

I believe this was me. There are no VISIBLE holes, but you are right that they are drilled into the plastic piece (bumper?) behind the grill. I took my salesman's screwdriver and unscrewed it at the dealership since it was already on. You won't notice the holes unless you really look, but if you're super OCD about it, fill the holes with some crayon, shoe goo, boba, or whatever else you can think of. I just put the screws back into the holes. I should emphasize, you literally will not see these holes unless you put your face right in front of your grill. Aka I only see them if I care to look while washing my car.

If I remember correctly, the mounting mechanism amounts to self tapping screws.

I am glad I found your answer since I cannot find the combination I want (Mallorca Blue Prestige with Grey interior, 3.3t RWD) anywhere in TN and I am contemplating the possibility to purchase it out of state where a front plate bracket would be a possibility and I was concerned there is no clean way to remove it...

Good luck in your search, that'll be an excellent spec. You could also look to have your dealer swap for one (possibly one in transit so nobody has touched the front). Might cost about $1k, but it would save some hassle for you.
