  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all,

Just looking for some suggestions on dash cams for the G70. I’m looking for something that doesn’t hang down and not overly expensive.

Any ideas?

You can find cheaper dash cams than these if that's a factor. I've had a Yi dash cam which I bought on sale for about $30 that has lasted me more than a year and it's still going strong. I couldn't find the exact one I purchased but here's another cam from the same company.

Thanks for this! Price isn’t the biggest factor but I know that there are many great webcams out there for lower prices that work just as well

Thats a great site. Thanks for the post. I have been browsing slickdeals for dashcams but may get that Blackvue one

I am very happy with the Street Guardian. Has a small screen for easy setup. Most people don't see it, very discreet. I have front and back cams.

Thanks. Will look into that. Do you have the model number of the one you’ve got?

Amazon.com: DDPai Mini2 Wi-Fi Dash Cam 1440P 2K Car Camera, Built-in Supercapacitor, G-Sensor, Snapshot Button, Night Vision, WDR, 140° Wide Angle, Loop Recording, Parking Monitor: Car Electronics

I went with the DDPai. I have three of these in different vehicles main reason is they use a super capacitor versus a lithium battery here in Arizona when it’s 115° the cabin temperature your car is 145°+ it will cook a lithium battery super capacitor is good to 185° If it gets overheated it automatically shuts off and once cooled back down starts back up ( mainly gets hot from sitting on the windshield with a closed vehicle )

Hasn’t failed yet work perfectly records flawlessly can download the images off of the SD card or onto the phone app

Did you hardwire the cam? If so which fuses did you tap into

the unswitched one was the Power seat passenger, bottom left middle and the switched one was the open/not used one on the right side second row from bottom to the left of washer 15amp.

I honestly can’t remember. I bought hardwire kit that had the fuse taps and used my test light to probe the empty ones to find one that was live only with ignition on. Basic wiring technique.

Thanks! Last probably stupid question...the kit I got came with 15v fuses...can that be used in 10v slots?

I hope you are going to use a piggyback fuse tap/ add a circuit setup, so it doesn't matter which slot you use concerning fuse sizes.
