  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all I just bought a 2012 Genny rspec and I am having trouble trying to find out what this means on dash....the green lights and the epb light

First, congratulation on your new purchase.

However, you may not be off to a good start, the yellow EPB indicates Electronic Parking Break fault, the two green lights are parking sensor detecting an object within three feet, if you are not within three feet of an object, then these lights may also mean you have a fault.
Finally that red seat with a ballon also indicates an Air bag fault.

Just a wild guess, without any additional purchase details, These faults combined may indicate this vihicle either has not been maintained affectionately, or may had a suspect history..

If you made the purchase at a dealership, I recommend that you take it back to the dealership for inspection, as driving a car with break or air bag issues may be concerning to some people... just my humble two cents..

Ok thanks for the quick reply ....I will definitely do that soon since this is not my daily driver.....I also suspect the car wasn't taken care of that well but mechanically it's sound since there is no issues while driving or weird sounds ....yet.

I have seen similar issues on other vehicles that have had body work done by shops that did not know how to remove the bumper covers correctly and ended up pulling on wires that they had not yet disconnected thereby destroying the sensors. if you inspected closely i would bet that you will find that the bumpers have either been repainted or replaced entirely. Look for damaged body clips and screwdriver marks on the connector tabs. as well as fade-out or masking lines near the underside edges.
Just things I have observed in the past, especially coming from used dealerships that are part of a new car dealership that has a body shop. Dealership body shops are usually a joke used just to touch up stuff on trade ins so they can jack the price up another $1-2K.

Perhaps some are, but the dealer's shop was my first choice after ny car got hit. They are a true full service body shop. Since both sensors and the AEB needed repair who better to know how it should work? The Genesis body shop or a shop that may have never seen a Genesis?

An actual Genesis body shop would be ideal. I was referring to the dealership body shops of non Genesis/Hyundai dealers. I should have been more clear on that.
