Buying a 2015 Genesis 3.8

Hello Everyone,
I am planning to buy a 2015 Genesis 3.8. No warranties, had a accident on the front side. Front and side airbags replaced but is quite cheap for a Genesis. Its got 25k Miles and no issues when I test drove the vehicle. Pano roof seems to be a problem already and I have seen that the roof is a common problem on this forum. But apart from that, it runs really smooth, drives great and is not showing any damaged major components in the front. Never owned any korean cars before and cant spend much on repairs. Looking to buy and keep it for a few years or maybe a 100k miles using it as a daily driver. Is it a good choice? The accident might put you off but the Car is repaired in a great condition and does not have the tech packages that keep running into problems and shows no damages in the engine bay. Should I make the Purchase? Will I get into expensive troubles?

Any idea how bad the accident was and how extensive the repairs were. Also, why no warranty?

Well this one has a rebuilt title. And I dont know if I can actually get a warranty even. The accident was on the front wrecking the Radiator, hood and the stuff. But the engine looks okay. Seeing the car in person, The engine bay looks great, no signs of any damages (Not Even Minor) and it was the usual dusty engine bay, not cleaned especially to hide leaks and damages. No problems reported by the current owner. I planned the repairs and fixes to be done in any local garages to keep my cost at minimum when required, but the ones who work on Genesis cars. So warranty isnt an option, salvage parts are what I will be using if required. Is it a good car in the long run? Will there be mechanical or electrical I will keep running into?

The Genesis has a good reliability record, but, like any car with lots of technology, it can be expensive to fix. With a rebuilt title and no warranty it would have to be one hell of a good deal. I'm thinking book price for good condition price less about $10k or more.

Damn. You are on point. The car is actually $10.8K. I am not able to give it up. Here there are shops with alot of salvaged parts for Genesis, The current owner told me the parts are cheap. How often does the Head Unit and Instrument cluster fail tho?

I'd consider it at that price. The head unit is one of the most expensive and the 2015 only had a 3 year warranty when new. Mine was replaced at about 18 months as it would no longer hold the SiriusXM radio code. Everything else worked OK though.

That is indeed a good price, but a risk never the less, unless you can maintain it yourself.

Did you check the other electronic functionality, such as lane keep? Auto Cruise control? Emergency breaking? Etc...

If it was me, I would pay a bit extra to get it checked out by a competent mechanic, or even a Hyundai Authorized repair shop, to validate it was repaired correctly.

I would also call couple of auto insurance companies to make sure they can provide adequate coverage, at a reasonable price.

Just my two cents...

I dunno about purchasing anything with a salvage title... At least get a trusted mechanic to inspect it for you beforehand. If the seller has a problem with it, don't walk, run away...!

It doesn't have those features, And I am relieved because these features could fail. I am planning to get my chassis checked and the collision zone from my trusted mechanic soon. The Car looks perfect without any problems as of now. Fingers crossed for the garage inspection. As for the insurance, I have spoken to a rep who would provide comprehensive insurance, hes the insurance provider for the current owner.

I will definitely get it checked by a trusted garage. Any problems in the chassis or the engine would be a no no for me. As for the electronic systems, I dont know what to do as everything works fine now but in the long run, I am not so sure about the Head Unit and Instrument cluster because I have read alot about it on this forum.
