  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is my car still getting some paint work on the bumper get to drive the G80 loaner car for the weekend.

Meh...it’s ok but I am so glad I chose the G70 not the G80 it is rather big and lumbering and unfortunately the loaner they gave me only has the 3.8 not the 3.3 Sport.

The controls are laid out rather odd to me and it just doesn’t quite invoke the sportiness of the G70 But it will do and it is a Genesis.

Yeah of course. The G80 is definitely built to be more of a touring car

Yes, we all have different needs. The G70 is nice but would not work for me, but the G80 is great. I could make an SUV work but I don't like them.

When I get a loaner, I want something different.

The next G80 should be a good bit sportier, but there's only so much one can do w a vehicle that size.

More importantly, the lux quotient should go up quite a bit.

I think the car archives it’s market target quite well. I had a 2015 Genesis Ultimate predecessor to the G80 for 4 years. I can remember riding in that car for 12 to 15 hours a day for a couple of days on vacation in complete comfort and got out of the car with no pains or stiffness. It was really quiet and smooth which is blessing on trips like that. It was and still is foremost a luxury car and I think it does that quite well. I love my G70 but a 12 to 15 hour drive would not fare as well physically.

I mean, they do have the G80 Sport. Take one for a spin and you'll see that the boat can be pretty nimble. I think the options for the G80 are pretty purpose built. 3.8 for the more price conscious customers, 5.0 for the ones who want ultimate smoothness, and the sport for those who want a more practical (though a bit slower) G70.

The luxury quotient seems to be just right given the price, but I would definitely argue that all cars could get better tech.

And that G80 Sport becomes a 4.5 second car with a JB4 !!!!

I had to have a loaner for two weeks when I got my used '15 (long story). The dealer offered me another '15 just like it to use except it was a 3.8. I requested a bottom tier economy car and they gave me a base Sonata. I wanted to be wowed when I picked up my car so I wanted a not-so-great one to drive before I got it. Strategy worked, too. Was a fun out of state drive home.

I test drove a 3.3t G80 sport before buying my G70. I admit it was one smooth ride.

I just returned from a road trip from Calgary to Toronto via Detriot
& back 8700 Kilometers going through northern Michigan
in my 2016 3.8 AWD. Fantastic highway car.No sore back or stiff neck @ 73
& never adjusted the seat. Bonus of 34 MPG imperial on regular gas.
Just love this car.
Plan to keep it so buying Securedrive extended warranty to 2026 & 140000 KMs from
my Hyundai Dealer.

Canada still sells imperial gallons at the pump? My experience is in Quebec which is metric only.
I was in Montreal in 1976 and the conversion was still in the future. I bragged a bit about my mpg on my US car and the Montrealer was unimpressed. I later realized he was thinking Imperial while I was speaking US gallon.
I like Imperial when I order a pint of beer.;)
