  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am on an extended test in a g70 till labor day in two days. I gotta figure out if this is worth this much money cause I like my money.

It's a weird trim called a dynamic that I can't find any info on. The dealer has three Dynamics in the same color with no miles on them that they are selling as used. Carfax shows All three were registered and sold at the Manheim auction to this dealer with no salvage or buyback. They claim the cars had defective paint that was corrected and sent to auction. The cars don't qualify for new car rates or valet service.

Does anyone have info about the Dynamics, defective paint or where Dynamics lay in trim list? The awd is 8k off and the red is 9k off. Does this sound like the right amount for this situation.

Dynamic edition is at the top of the trim list. Just 400 made, they are like a Sport trim but Havana Red only, no spare tire, special tuned suspension and special cooling system.

In Canada, Dynamic is basically a 3.3t Elite.

He’s in Canada folks...don’t confuse things.

Dynamic is just a normal trim as mentioned by @NLJ.

Going back to the OP’s question...I think Canadians need to chime in.

That's interesting! The dynamic is Canadian spec? Because the car and I are in the US. The window sticker doesn't show the car being delivered to a dealer either, instead going to Manheim, PA where it was auctioned.

What year are you looking at 2019?
Im in Canada and was looking at the dynamic however went up to the prestige model because of a few things.. one being the wireless charging port

Oh sorry man...I read “Markham”...which is north of Toronto.

In the USA...the 2.0T has a dynamic trim. In the USA...the 3.3T Dynamic is an entirely different special edition...only 400 made and only in Havana Red.

Manheim is a major auction site.
If this (these) car(s) are ineligible for 10/100 extended warranty, complimentary 3/36 service, valet service, connected services and app, and are auction and repaired autos a major discount should apply. If the new car lease cash and other rebates for competitor vehicles/military/others also do not apply the major discount should be super-major discount. If the foregoing is true consider comparing to a new unregistered car (perhaps not the Dynamic if unavailable).
Is this a Genesis dealer with these cars now?

That's why I'm asking you guys to help me figure out if this story makes sense. Cause you know how honest and trustworthy our friendly neighborhood dealerships are.

These are at a genesis dealer and they told me they don't qualify for incentives, maintenance or valet or new car finance rates. But they did say 100kmile warranty was still in effect and the connected services would still be in effect.

They want 45k for the awd. Carfax doesn't show a buyback or any branding. It just shows the car gets registered and then auctioned in the same month. I'll post in a moment.

This all seems weird right, and it's not really a great deal?

Drive the car. Test the functions and features. Wring it, stop hard and other real life situations which a ride along with the salesman might not allow. Then compare to a similar vehicle at the dealer or a nearby dealer and review the results in our "Post Purchase" thread and "Lease Comparison" thread to see what others achieve with conventional deals. It is worth 20 minutes to skim the experience of dozens of others in your situation.

I've going through autotrader today and I noticed there are at least ten of these red 3.3t dynamics that have been titled to Hyundai and then Auctioned during August. They seem to be all over the country now too.

There was a discussion here a few months ago about reports of paint issues on truly new cars. I cannot recall the thread title or poster. Something similar to the Stinger issue maybe. Could that be it? Anyone recall this discussion here?

here is the am article that references the Stinger paint issue:

G70 and Stinger paint issues

To the OP, IMHO if you like the price, find the paint work in pristine condition and really like the car, you can alway take it upon delevery to a good shop and get some ceramic coating applied with a good 7-10 year warranty, that should take care of it ($1-1.5k would be worth while insurance), just my two cents..

Interesting how they sent the cars directly to auction. I was planning to buy a Dynamic Edition, took it home and there were some paint issues. Found out from the dealership that they had a Genesis Rep come in and the car was removed from inventory.

If that's the problem and it was corrected, I'm good. I am strangely glad to hear that you had paint issues,(sorry) cause maybe it means the dealer isn't lying about that being the problem.

Still trying to figure out how to value this thing given this situation. But seeing how many there are I feel comfortable asking for a little bit extra know I can get another one.

Yes, I would shoot for a really unbeatable deal on that car. Otherwise, take advantage of the incentives and circle pricing and get a “new” one with fully warranty/benefits.

Where are you located?

You want a warranty of some sort. It would have to still be a good deal after buying a good aftermarket warranty, preferably a Genesis one from a dealer. There is a couple of threads where they are mentioned.

I'd look at the cost of warranty, cost of financing compared to what Genesis can do, cost of the "free" oil changes and service, best deal on a new one. and I'd still want to pay a few thousand less than that.

Too late now. After test driving other cars all day with some friends, I did it.

My accountant friends will probably be disappointed in me not getting more meat off the bone but there wasn't anything else like it, even the stinger. So I got another thousand off and pulled the trigger. It also looks like the other Dynamics that this dealer had are gone.

I got on the phone with Genesis and they think I might still qualify for the Maintenance and Valet too so Fingers crossed. On the downside, they made me buy floor mat for $75, gave me a junk rate, and I'm pretty sure the detail guy scratched the interior door panel but I have no way of proving it.

I'm in the club I guess.
