  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can you physically feel the power difference or is it only on paper?
Map 2 is very noticeable on 91 compared to map 0(stock). Map 3 on 100 octane to me is also very noticeable compared to map 2 on 91. Maps 3 and 5 will def make you want to get on it throttle hard much more often right when you start using them. I daily map 2 on 91 and run 100 on map 3 going to the drag strip.

Two pages back, I posted two different dyno sheets running Map 1, 2 and 3, 5

This is Map 2 on 93 octane vs. Map 5 on mixed fuel ~97 octane
What about E85 mix for map 5? Say 5 gal of E85 and 10 gal 91 octane?

I add 7 gal. of E85 + 14 gal. of 93 = 97 octane the G80 sport has 20.3 gal. tank

G70's is 16 gal.? so, I would put 7 of E85 + 9 of 91= 97 octane......or you could use BOOSTane. Ask Beefer, he's using it.

No don’t go the heavy on e85. 30 percent mix on a 16 gallon tank is 4.77 gallons. 4.5 would be safe I usually do 4 of e85 and too it off with 91. If you go passed the 30 percent mark the mixture will be to thick for the stock injectors to handle and the car will cut power to save itself. I tried 5 gallons of e85 and topped off with 91 and was having those issues at WOT constant added more 91 to delute the ethanol and bam she ran like a champ

Yeah, but you're topping it of with 91 octane not 93, so that would put you at ~95 octane, which according to Terry isn't recommended for running Map5...Map3 would be ok, though.

Correct. From what I’ve read and seen though it doesn’t seem like the injectors can handle more than 30 percent of e85. So an easy fix is do the math on your e85 blend and use BOOSTane for the amount of pump gas you will be using. Or go big and buy 100 octane at 8$ a gallon. Did that once. Map 3 ran better than map5 did. Both using 100. I have access to 110 and 114 if I really wanted to try but 110 is 24$ a gallon and 114 is 26$. Not exactly worth it to me unless I was fully bolted with pure turbo upgrades

Yeah they have Loves in SW Phoenix that has 100 octane unleaded it’s $7 a gallon I’m going to go fill up the rest of the tank (sitting on 3/8 tank) and see how it does.

Thanks for the info man, I'm about to get a JB4. Also do I change my plugs? I'm only going to run 91 on this car. I live in LA, CA. So you're saying map 2 with 91 everything else stock is great for daily driving.. No problems should be stable right?

You would need to change the plugs and gap them to .022

I would definitely change the plugs out I did before I put the tune in

Was looking at the option of mixing some E85 but unfortunately here in Arizona they’ve changed to E54 which could be anywhere from 60% to 82% ethanol. Not sure where to start almost seems like I would need a ethanol tester to test every time it’s more of a pain in the ass than it’s worth.

In that case just buy boostane and use that with 93 oct

In Arizona we only have 91 octane.

The price of BOOSTane would almost equal the price the price of 100 octane mix

Well I guess not quite that much if you buy the BOOSTane in a 4 quart case it comes out to about $.88 per ounce to mix with 1 gallon would put it at 98 octane bumping the price to about $4.14 a gallon versus $5.75 with a 100 octane mix

Looks like BOOSTane is on sale right now for 20% off and free shipping. I guess I will bite the bullet and order a six pack at that price it only comes out to $.68 per ounce according to their chart would get me from 91 to a little over 98 octane.

Beefer how many ounces per gallon are you running?

I use the Professional version.

Half ounce to every gallon of 93. That gets me to 99 octane.

So a full tank (16 gallons) would be 8 ounces (1/4 bottle of Pro).
