  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have ordered a new key fob to replace one I lost. Does anyone know what the programming instructions are?

AFAIK you take both fobs to the dealer. Not sure if a locksmith can do it.

I posted this on a previous FOB programming thread...

For $120, you can program your FOB's with this:

The one I purchased (not from the source above) came with seven DVD's that included all Hyundai models up to 2017. I don't see those listed with the unit above but there looks to be a thumb drive with this package that may include all models.

After a modest learning curve of the entire software program, I programmed a second FOB on the first try.

With that tool you can also diagnosis pretty much any issues your car comes up with.

AFAIK, this is the same tool Hyundai dealers used in their service departments up through 2017.

Are you sure you don’t have to pay a horrendous
License fee to Hyundai for using this?

I haven't. Been working fine since I purchased it back in Nov. 2018. Very helpful tool. If available, it can scan up to 37 modules, including engine, trans, all body and chassis modules.

You can assign a dealer code in the software and it will connect to Hyundai, upload and save your scans for future reference. You can look through all recent uploaded service scans from every dealer you can find codes for (I found a bunch on the internet by looking at pics of window stickers).

The software has a detailed diagnosis/repair section but you won't be able to access that without a service technician code. You can access all schematics and hundreds of detailed photos. The photos were helpful to me for finding connectors when searching for a CAN bus error my car was having. If you replace a module it can reset and/or calibrate it.

It does have a learning curve but it's well worth the price.
