  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just took the plunge

Thanks Dataguy.

I have the Winged Hood emblem as well, but I'm not sure if I want to remove the hood deflector to install it. one of the brackets lines up right where the emblem would go so I can;t have both on at the same time

Well, I'm almost complete with phase 1 modifications to my car. So far, I have tinted windows at 27% (max legal limit in Colorado), added trunk wings, and lip spoiler. Oh yeah, I also got the genesis plate frame. The wife says that it is too much genesis on the back, but I kinda like it. Any thoughts? I ordered the wing airbag to replace the one on the steering wheel and waiting to get it. Also, still waiting on the the wings for the wheels. I'm debating whether or not to leave hood alone, add wings, or change grill completely to black wing grill (http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31_237_342&products_id=3405) Any thoughts? I think the wing grill gives the car a slightly more aggressive appearance which I like cause the only thing I don't like is how it looks kinda blah from the front. But the wife hates it. Anyway, here are some pics of my ride and the wing grill and love to hear thoughts on changing or keep OEM grill.

Bag the license plate frame the wife is right.
Leave the grill alone. PLease.........
Add wings front and rear.
Put wings on the wheels.
Dump the Genesis sign on trunk.
Winged steering wheel is nice but expensive.

you asked so I said don't be upset.

PS think of chroming the stock wheels and ditching the Dunlops.
Add the Led for the interior and trunk and get the lighted sills.

OH and congrats on the new car.

The V8 comes with the LED interior dome lighting and lighted sills. I have no idea how to change trunk lights and the lights on the bottom of the door. How hard is that?

I have been debating what to do with the wheels. Leave them alone, chrome them, or buy some aftermarket 20"

It's not particularly difficult to change any of the non-LED courtesy lights, except for the footwells (dark and hard to see the bulb sockets) and the glovebox (which is a tabbed lens cover that was really, really tight on my car). The trunk and plate bulbs are simple to replace. The under-door courtesy/puddle lights are easy if you have a non-marring screwdriver to pry out the lens without gouging the surrounding paneling.

I think I remember a visual guide to changing the lighting in the Pictures gallery, and if you do a search or browse through the "Electrical, Lighting, Bluetooth, Stereo, iPod integration, DVD Navigation, Etcetera" forum there are several threads that discuss this in depth.

I hate that aftermarket grill with a passion. The black plastic is way too square, it doesn't flow with the trunk lip chrome, it is way too symmetrical when the car's lines are curvy and organic, and it just looks aftermarket. My vote would be to add the front badge if you really want Genesis wings on the front. See my signature link below for pics on how it looks on Titanium Grey.

My sweet Jesus that grill is HORRIFIC!!!!!! Have a nice day:)

Here's a pic of my lip spoiler. I also added one of my of hood deflector if anyone is interested in one those as well.

OK I added the 3rd one a bit later. I think it looks a bot better then the 1st one

I like the way that lip looks (didn't think I would). That is a dealer installed accessory?

I also don't like that aftermarket grille...it looks like a big Halloween grin with a middle front tooth blacked out! Yikes

I haven't got the spoiler yet. I just ordered it so I expect it won't get here for another 2 weeks or so. From what I've read, its a do-it-yourself install. It has some adhesive 3M tape and is basically peel and stick...but measure twice cut once as its apparently very difficult to get off if you mess up. The pics I've seen with it on look great.

As for paint codes, look on the drivers doo inside. You will find it there. It's a 2 digit code. Mine is NY (Titanium Grey Metallic). Also, you can check this link for the color codes. http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=1150

This is a follow-up question for mghaynes.

I'm wondering if you have received / installed your spoiler yet? Anything worth mentioning about the installation process? Any pictures of the completed work? I'm still interested in the product, but just the slightest bit hesitant to pull the trigger until I see/hear good things from a Genesis owner.

Thanks again.

I would like to know more about this trunk spoiler installation. (this was a pretty lame first post) :welcome:
