If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. How would you compare 2015 genesis 3.8 awd to 2017 santa fe 3.3 xl awd limited ultimate. Due to needing an suv for various reasons i am almost going to pull the trigger on a CPO. I have test drove it and liked it. I think i will miss some luxury part of it even tho santa fe have all the bells and whistles. Anyone owned or own a santa fe 3.3

Not comparable at all totally different segments, suv vs lux sedan. But the 3.3L is a great motor , I have 86k on mine and i just literally do the regular schedule maintenance no issues at all, the ultimate is impressive, loaded with luxury features. So you wont be missing much of the features that you had in the Genesis. The obvious is the comfort of a luxury vehicle that's what you will be missing.

So you think genesis is lot comfortable better ride quality than santa fe? Looks like it has 6 speed. Do you know how good of transmission they are?

My wife's on her 4th Santa fe, last three were/are fully loaded with 3.3L she just loves driving them. She went to Louisiana, Virginia and a few other states and she said, those cars are very comfy and reliable, we never have had any problem with them.

I really love my genesis but we need bigger car for future baby and we love to go hiking camping and it is little hard with genesis. Do you have thr 2017? If so can you confirm if turn signals, tail lights are led like our genesis?

No, our '17 didn't and now '18 doesn't have led tail lights. The '17 had front radar "thing" under the grill, '18 doesn't. So I guess, ours are limited not ultimate, or vice versa, lol
(I don't know much about her cars, as she won't let me drive them anyway, haha!)

Ride quality yes , the Genesis absorbs bumps on the road quite well and is real as for the santa fe being a suv you will have a more natural feel to how the roads are paved but again your comparing a luxury car to a suv. the Santa fe is very comfortable and great for long road trips specially if you get one with the captain chairs in the second row. The transmission is solid no history of them being a problem, just change fluid every 30k miles you will be fine.

It will be perfect for your needs.
Yes if you get the limited ultimate it is Led

Captain chairs are just waste of space. If you get a chance, get one without them. Your kids will thank you.
my santa fe is without captain chiars but when I did ride in my brother inlaw limited ultimate 2017 santa fe I found the captain chairs much more comfortable and with the panoramic sunroof it felt real spacious , felt like first class back there lol

Ans lastly how are two awd systems compare? I know genesis is htrac. Also mpg will be worse on santa fe im assuming

You can't compare sedan to an suv, those are completely two different cars. On a long drives, my wife makes ~25mpg, car's loaded with 2-3 kids, so I'd say, 25mpg is good.

I believe there is a 1 or 2 mpg difference between the 2wd and 4wd . The systems are real similar I honestly have not tested Or drove a awd genesis in snow or light offroad so I couldn't tell you . But with my santa fe i have been to mountains and snow and also did some light off road without any issues.

Yeah mpg not bad on Santa fe for a v6 its great, I take a drive from Vegas to san francisco often get like 33mpg on the trips.

It's a great suv. I actually put a 2.5 inch lift on mine and 18 inch xd wheels and 31 inch tires bridgestone duelers

Looks pretty sick. What brand parts did you use to get the lift? How are the A/T tires and road noise
