Need help deciding between 2 cars!

When it comes to getting a CPO warranty through Hyundai, you don't have to get it through one particular dealer. Call around. Prices will vary by dealer. I bought the car at one place and got a warranty from another. They just wanted me to fax them the CPO checklist for verification.

Edit: just found the same black Genesis Ultimate that I posted for sale by Genesis of Macon, GA. It’s within 45 mins from the other dealer, is it normal for dealers to share inventory like this? Gonna reach out to that genesis dealer to see if they can have it certified!

Not unusual for dealers owned by the same person to list shared inventory at lots. Maybe that's the case here. See if the Carfax gives any clues on recent activity.

EDIT: Spoke to sales manager at the Genesis dealership, and was told the vehicle does not qualify to be certified. Then I got a phone call from another manager telling me it can be certified, however it would be 1k added to the price. Currently trying to see what kind of numbers we can get to. I'm hoping to get it down to around 23-23.5k certified.

Not sure if my information will help you. But here is a little information about my purchase. I'm in South Carolina (Greenville) and I drove up to Charlotte area and purchased my car. They had better prices. Friday I purchased a 2016 ultimate Genesis from a Hyundai dealership. It had 26k miles on it and my out the door price was $26295. Talked them down a good bid. I really didn't want to pay over 25k for a car. But this car was the color in really wanted. At first I told them I really liked the car but it was out of my price range (they wanted 28 soemthing for it at first) I told them another dealership up the road wants 24k for same car and trim level. Except it was cool. 10y 100k and 5y 60 bumper to bumper. He didn't believe me when I told him that price so I showed him the email ( I have several out door prices from different dealership before I went there in case they tried to pull some funny games with me) he told me to give him a few minutes and he would see what he could do. And he came back with a great offer. He told me 26295 was the lowest he could go out the door and he has no idea why the other dealership had their car for so low. I told him if you make it a CPO and give me the warranty we have a deal and he agreed. So if you go to a dealership be sure you get them to make it CPO because they can. Don't fall for the 5 year 60 power terrain. And be sure you get an out the door price because they will try to add on fees and other things that will make your price go up. Just my experience and I thought I'd share. Good luck. Sorry if I have any typos. I didn't go back and proof read lol

This morning I was looking through the new vehicles added to cars.com and came across exactly what I am looking for. A black Genesis 5.0 with Ultimate package and ivory interior. 18k miles, not cpo. I have been emailing with one of the sales managers all day, car is listed for a tick over 26k.
I offered 25k CPO certified, he said there's not much of a mark up on the car, and said best he can do is 26k CPO.
Can you guys take a look at it and see what you think? Is it a good deal? I noticed there's an accident on the carfax, so that has me a little concerned.
Edit: looks like there's damage to the front passenger side fender, or am I just seeing things?

I think the CPO is important but the electronics only had 3 year warranty on the 2015 so check that out.

Front fender you see may just be the reflections. As for the accident, depends on what it was. My car was hit and you'd never know by looking at it $6000 later. Fixed right is not a big deal but if it screws up the front end it could be. I've not kept up with prices so not sure if that is good, but I think it is the ballpark.

Sharp looking though.

Sales manager just emailed me back and confirmed that there is damage to the passenger side front fender, he thought the car was on his lot, but turns out the car was just bought at auction, so it hasn’t even arrived at their lot yet.
Told him to get back to me once they get the car and get some updated pictures.

Before purchase, get a pre-purchase inspection from an independent mechanic.

According to the sales manager the car is currently in their bodyshop getting that fender fixed. He said he’s going to send me some updated pictures once they’ve cleaned it up.
currently discussing CPO wrap options. Let’s see ..

Have you driven both the 3.8 and the 5.0?
I drove the 3.8 first, then drove the 5.0 and that removed all doubt. It’s a lot of fun knowing you can dust most cars around you and can hang with camaros. The power is just always there, and the car never feels like it’s straining.
Mileage is not great. I average about 18 during my commute, but I don’t have a long commute.

Also, I second the idea of a pre-purchase inspection.

Haven’t driven any Genesis yet, I’m going to go test drive a 5.0 ultimate tomorrow, it’s a 55k mile car. Just want to see what it’s like. I’m not even considering the 3.8, I want that smooth silky V8.

Could I get someone to go inspect it for me? The car is in Oklahoma, I’m in FL.

I got a 15 ultumate 5.0 in march with 36k miles. Decided to get a full aftermarket warranty from the (Lexus) dealer. It has already paid for itself on a radio/Nav repair, the Hyundai warranty wouldn't cover that.

Markymark is totally correct about 3.8 vs the 5.0. I just got a 5.0 in April. The smooth power and acceleration that comes with the v8 is AWESOME!! I live in south dakota, I run non ethanol gas and get 30 mpg with it, believe or not.Great car no regrets

Regular octane?

Regular octane?
I use octane booster every time I put fuel in it. I am out in the country so it is very hard to find anything other than 87octane. But when I do get 91octane non ethanol fuel the fuel mpg is still up there . Anywhere from 27 to 30 mpg. I live in rural America. No traffic!!😁

I’m moving... traffic here drives me nuts!

I used to live on east coast philly Jersey area, moved to south Dakota for that reason. Too much traffic!
I don't think that I would have bought a Genesis if I still lived out on the east coast, would not be able to enjoy it sitting at red light all the time,80mph speed limits out here. Love it!!!!
