Trying to figure out how to change license plate lights on a 2015 Hyundai genesis sedan

they are not changeable, they are SMD LEDs soldered to a board. you need to take to the dealer, or order the whole assembly if they are out.


if you are just trying to change color. you would need to crack open the unit, desolder the SMD and solder in a new one.

it is stated in the owners manual that the interior lights (map, visor) and the plate lights are not serviceable by the customer, you must take vehicle to an authorized Genesis/Hyundai dealer to service these items.

Not trying to change color , one of them went out and I was trying to figure out how to take the housing out to replace it myself
