  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there a way to tell what gear you are in or am I just over looking it. I have a 2016 Ultimate G and I never know what gear I am in. Does it show up some where or do I just need to keep track when it automatically shifts?

Would be nice at times to have a visual. Only way I know is to hit one of the paddles and it will show the gear. You can count them but some of the shifts are so smooth you will miss them. You can watch the tach but you still have to watch the road so you can still miss them.

In addition to the paddle shifters Ed mentioned, If you pull the shifter to the left into the "manual" gate mode on a 2015, it will display whatever gear it's in at the moment that you do that, and then keeps it in that gear until you upshift (Forward) or downshift (rearward). Put it back over to the right and yow will be back in "drive", and it goes into automatic mode, and shows only D as your chosen gear. I don't know what years this function started or ended, so other years may not have it.

Oh, I forgot about that, good solution. My 2018 does not have it, but I liked bumping the lever better than using the paddles.
