  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was thinking about putting mine on the huge plastics piece behind the mirror in the center.
Where did people mount their cams? I understand there are different shapes and sizes but just curious about it.

mine is to the left of the mirror mount, attached to the windshield. I can see my screen while driving, and hit the save button easily if something happens

Mine is mounted to the windshield to the right of the black box next to the rear view mirror. The black box intrudes into the camera's view slightly, but no big deal.

I decided to mount mine on the black box itself...so far so good...granted I only did it yesterday lol038B87B2-A350-4271-9FC7-585AFF2B3C73.webp038B87B2-A350-4271-9FC7-585AFF2B3C73.webp

the right side is where the light sensor is on the rearview mirror. Careful youre not blocking it. This is why I recommend the left side, I imagine a dark object sitting in front of the sensor could impair its functionality

Just hope the vibrations don’t snap the cover loose. It just held up there with small plastic edge tabs. I took mine off the run the wires behind and it’s not very strong.

Anyone got a suggestion for decent and affordable one?

I bought the Roav S1 for $90 but I really didn’t like it but the customer service is good. So I just purchased the VAVA dash cam for $109 (normally $120) but amazon had a coupon.

The other one I looked at was the 70mai for $70...issues I had with that were the app wouldn’t work on iOS13. And they do not have local CS, so have to email and it took about 3-4 biz days to get a response (which wasn’t really helpful at all)
