I guess I’m being a little harsh but I stand by it. I can tell that’s plastic easily. There are certain aesthetic choices I don’t judge but this is putting a paper bag on a beautiful model, just wrong.

The 360° camera in the G80 is a nice way of making sure I never do.. but haven't ever done it on any car I've owned in 35 years, touching wood as I say that...

Maybe some of these guys need curb feelers. A lot of people put them on so as not to scrape the whitewall tires.

I love the 360 camera and the tilting mirrors. I have no problem with parking and getting nice and snug with the curb, without touching it.

The problem, for me at least, is when you're making a turn around a protruding curb at more than 10mph. Evidently I have had difficulty estimating just how wide the rear track is on my G70.




Though I don't think rim savers would have helped in my situation. Would have busted right through that plastic!

In the 50's feelers were used to protect the body of the car not so much the wheels:

i have a spinner knob on my ‘39. Full manual steering with wide low profile tires, turning that car is a b*t*h, it can’t even make a u-turn in it’s own length, always ends up being a 3 point turn even on a wide road.

Spinners were used to help turn the steering wheel FAST, before the days of Power Steering.

Now with Power Steering, we just turn the wheel fast by placing the heel of our hand on the steering wheel and turning fast.

My favorites were the type that would fold in. Connected to inside of wheel, push a button on spinner and it would fold in, not in the way if you did not want to use it.
