Mirrors suddenly not folding open anymore

So I was washing my car and the mirrors were folded closed but the doors unlocked. After I was all done I approached the door and noticed they didn't fold open and stayed closed even after starting the car. Had to unfold them manually.

Anyone else experience this or have any ideas what could have caused this?

EDIT: Never noticed the button which controls the folding of the mirrors (above the L/R mirror selection). Pressing that unfolded the mirrors and seemed to reset them so all's working normally now.

Did you fold closed them manually? They are supposed to stay unless the door is locked when you approach. Starting puts the mirror where last set and if you set them closed they would remain.

No I don't recall closing them manually. But I'll try your suggestion.
