  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Took delivery of my G70 yesterday and noticed a very minor scratch on the auto hold button that I initially thought was glue or something. It kinda annoys me to be honest, what would you guys do if you were me? Let it be?

That is a tough one. I would go back to the dealer and ask them what would be involved in replacing the switch. If it involves removing the console (probably does) I would probably hesitate. I'm worried that techs may not have had much experience removing dashes, consoles etc being that the G70 is a new model and that Hyundai techs are working on them. Just my 2cents sense.

As frustrating as it is right now, that "new car" feeling will eventually wear off. You'll have scratches and dings here and there and it will be more normal than it is now. If it's a cheap fix (and I mean cheap), I'd consider it, but it's still probably best to let it be.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of, trying to fix or replace the button will only make things worse. It's a shame because I'm so careful with my cars, this would have never happened on my watch lol

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Ask for a free window tinting instead and you’ll forget about the scratch in no time! I used the auto hold maybe twice with my prior G80 for the 3 years I leased it.

If minor, I'd let it go. Is it something you can at least minimize easily with a marker? Better than having the consul opened.

I'd make it worse if I tried and opening the console is not worth it... I'm going to just let it go. It's not the end of the world I guess, thanks for your input guys.

On;y time I don't use it is going to the grocery store as there is only one stop sign. Most used feature on the car.

I would second that. Use it all the time.
