2015 Genesis 3.8 sedan / Trunk open warning light

I have a 2015 genesis 3.8 ultimate sedan. While driving the trunk open light on the dash randomly blinks as if the trunk were open when it isn’t. Any ideas? Thanks.

the sensor in the latch drive is either broken, or the latch drive is not actually closing the trunk all the way.
