  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis purschase input

Check to see if the Parking Assist sensors are malfunctioning, as mine were. Middle front sensor was showing something there, even after cleaning it, when there was nothing there; it just stayed active. Some sensors were not activating, when Parking Assist was manually turned off/on. When all sensors were showing off, while the car was turned on, there was no dead battery the next day. This was actually a PROBLEM 2 causing dead battery, too. The small plunger, driver side attached to hood, that turns stuff off for the shutdown, associated with the car theft/security system, was also missing; part was less than a dollar and an associate at the dealer, attached it when I purchased it - appeared to simply plug in to the hood. #3: also have the fuse boxes checked to make sure a fuse is not inserted into port that should be empty; this can activate things that should be shut down when the engine is stopped.

I've also been having the same problem. Took it in for check up but they found nothing.

Take it to the dealer, especially if it is still under warranty for your electrical portion, and have them do a full Battery Draw Test to find the source of the Parasitic Drain. My real problem turned out to be the locking mechanism on the rear passenger door. It was drawing power when all fuses were out. It was doing a draw thru the security system setup (almost like a reverse draw). Took them two days do the draw test and then to find the component causing it. Also, look at your "recommended fixes" posted on your shop printout from when you had previous service; it is probably one of those things that is causing the draw.

I'm in process of purchasing 2015 genesis with 28k miles. I cross through the forum and carcomplaints and found out that Genesis have electrical problem (dead battery, no start etc...) I just want to know if these are really big deal with current genesis?
thank you

The bigger thing you will want to check for is to make sure the car does not shake on the highway, mine who i purchased through carmax was a 2016 with 26000 miles. About a week in car developed a steering shimmy, no amount of tire balancing road force balancing or dealer visits fixed it, they had to buy it back after it was at the Hyundai dealer for about a month
