  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spy shots of the long-awaited GV80.

IMO, this tread should be closed. Who wants to skim through 502 posts mostly showing vehicles with crapo tape to hide the what's beneath. How about a new thread called "HERE it is, the GV80".

Well this thread is about spy shots of the GV80. Really don’t understand where you are coming from. Once the GV80 does in fact get shown there will be another thread.

They all look about the same though. Draped in canvas. Things like wheels may not be final anyway. Not really worth looking until it is naked.

The name of the thread is called “Spy shots of the long-awaited GV80” so technically that’s what this thread is all about. Once it’s shown it will be shown here then a new thread will open up. Everyone has the freedom to post what they want (pertaining to the GV80 of course) on this thread.

Why are you here looking than?
Just scrolling down the new threads. Unless something is new, I'm gone to the next in a second

I know it has been mentioned already...but Genesis has 100% confirmed that the GV80 will NOT be at the LA Auto Show. What a bunch of f'ing idiots. It would have been the perfect timing.

They really cannot get their shit together. I thought the dealership issue was the main thing that was screwing with them. The mess continues with the non-luxury type sales and service across the board. Nightmare. Wonder how long the new execs will take to fix this clusterfuck.

Also...look at their website. Holes in it everywhere...especially the CPO portion. Why would they not have their CPO up and running like all other luxury brands.

Starting to worry if Genesis will exist once my lease is up :(

I can't disagree with you here. Missing the LA Auto Show seems like a misstep. It wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to wait until next year's New York Auto Show to unveil the GV80 and (updated) G80 in North America - which is way too long given the competitive market they are trying to fit in. The timing delta between South Korea and the US is pretty rough as well. I'm hoping that the recent change in leadership will be positively felt over the next several months.

We all get a sense that they want to make sure the the GV80 and their new design language as a whole is well received. I'm still holding out hope that their upcoming execution is on point - especially in the US. Otherwise, the competition offers compelling alternatives...

Genesis will exist but I don’t see them really making a huge impact especially against its competitors. So far the only real thing that the GV80 has over for example a X5 is the whole noice cancelation thing. From what it looks it’s not really a game changer. I was hoping they would bring something new and innovative to the table but it seems like they are lacking that. They made a huge miss opportunity with the GV80 not revealing it at LA especially how BMW currently right now is selling a lot of X5’s. Seems like they missed the boat big time. I love Genesis but at the same time it’s really disappointing to see how bad they are handling a lot of things.

just want to also mention that if anyone is wanting a GV80 and there lease is up soon, I’m sorry to say but you’d have to wait about mid to late Summer time to get one. Don’t know how they royally messed this up but they did. I know a bunch of you are waiting for the GV80 but your best bet is to get a different model if your lease is up soon.

I echo the sentiments above regarding the GV80 missing at the LA Auto Show. While auto sales are down globally, SUV sales still represent a huge profit margin for many manufacturers that sell vehicles in the US. LA is a great place to showcase a new luxury SUV line from Genesis and it's a pity they couldn't produce the GV80 for the show. I get they are being delicate with the reception of the GV80, but god LA of all places represents the most diverse (aside from NY in my experience), set of cultures in the USA.

Folks in the NE/NW will look to the Germans when their leases are up this winter.

The fact that both the GV80 & G80 are not at the la auto show is beyond my comprehension, what a miss opportunity, I am starting to worry about Genesis as a company, hopefully their new design language can hold up.

If we focus only on the GV80, competition is very, very strong. You have the new gorgeous X5, you have a new GLE, refresh XC90 and updated Q7 just to name a few. There’s certain things that worry me about the GV80, the triangle shape rear quarter window is a bit of a turn off, but we sha’ll see when it’s fully revealed... Whenever they decide to

Also don’t get me started with the dealership fiasco, how is it that Genesis still can’t figure this out, I would like more explanation regarding that, so only thing we have at the la auto is a refresh G90 that was unveiled and myself saw at the Montreal auto show LAST YEAR.

My patience is running low Genesis, get your act together and start acting like a true luxury car company

sorry for my rent

I don't know. Is it smart to show something you can't sell yet? Looks like it is maybe 6 months before it is in the showroom. The hoopla may be exciting now and be dead before the product is available, thus wasted. One purpose of a car show is to get people into the showrooms to buy. The GV80 right now would get them to the showroom to see an empty spot on the floor.

I also commend them for not rushing to market with a product not fully proven on the road. It takes a lot of work to get a new model out the back door of the factory and they evidently want to get it right.

As for the dealers, they finally did take some big steps internally. Now to see what actually gets done.

Korea > Canada > U.S.

Wouldn't be surprised if the U.S. is waiting a year+ for the GV80 after Korea.

i just hope it’s available late next year when I start looking for family vehicles.

If the Next Gen Tucson comes out before Genesis releases it that would show how behind Genesis would be when it comes to releasing vehicles.
