Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80
Hello, I recently purchased a 2019 G80. The day after I brought it home, I noticed a wind sound from the driver's side window. Took it in, and they replaced the seal, they said Genesis seals have a groove on the outside that can cause that sound, needless to say the sound is still there. Then there is a squeaking sound when I have the AC on, they said it was some fan in the AC and replaced it. They kept my car for 5 days and told me the sound was gone, as soon as I leave the dealership the sound I hear the sound again. I took it back and they send an advisor to ride with me to see if the sound is still there, we get back to the dealership and he tells someone else there is is an expansion valve and that can't be replaced because it is doing what it needs to do telling me it is the gases going up/down while the AC is going. Well that didn't sit well with me so I filed a complaint through corporate and end result is that is is a characteristic of that car and ALL cars no matter make/model make sounds. And since all this happened in the summer, now it's colder and using the defrost button the sound is still there (AC isn't on). Anyone else have these issues?

Don't have this problem but if I did, at this point I'd ask for a smoke test.

You're welcome. Let us know what happens.

FYI, front defogger on most cars will engage the AC and the heat to dehumidify the air it’s blowing on the windscreen, in order to more effectively clear it, so that would explain why you’re hearing the AC sounds.
