Interior Dome Lights

I have a 2010 Genesis Sedan 4.6. I am trying to change the rear dome lights, they are led. I removed the clear cover however it looks like I will need to remove more and am not sure how to go about it. Anyone have any advice?

Hi, after removing the clear cover you have to remove gray plastic underneath. Then you will see a Phillips screw on each side. Just remove the screws and you are done.
The LED bulbs are not removable or replaceable. They are soldered on the board.
For my case the bulls were not blown. There is a resistor right before each bulb connected to a heat sink. I have to reflow those resistors with a soldering iron and some leaded solder.

I have a 2011 3.8 sedan and the rear dome lights flicker on and off occasionally and some times don't come on. If I use the switch they will turn on. Usually when in the cold. I'm thinking its the same problem you described and would like to do the repair. However I can't seem to figure out how to remove the lenses and other parts to get at it. Could you provide any direction on how to do this? Thanks

They are not replaceable 'bulbs' - I had the drivers overhead "dome" light go out in our '12, oh, been over a year now. I removed the panel, thinking I'd just replace the bulb, and found the setup frustrating, to say the least...BUT...as we have the extended warranty, the local dealer ordered a new one, easy peezy.

First, you should go to Auto Zone or another parts place and get a set of plastic trim tools for prying and such. Taking these dome assemblies apart can be daunting, but can be done if you take care. I was able to successfully pull the plastic dome assembly apart for the driver/passenger dome and I suspect the rear seat is no different.

To remove or retrofit the Genesis Sedan Rear Dome Light LEDs, FLYNBLIND gave great instructions & photos here: LED Courtesy lights
Go slow, take care and have a good set of plastic or vinyl spudgers. Following those instructions and the suggestion above from HAMED57, I was able to solve my one rear LED flickering issue by reflowing R1 (resistor 1) on the rear passenger LED metal block using a heat gun. Good luck!
