Any Experience with the new Genesis Dealers?

I took my car to Cerritos Hyundai for an oil change and asked that they diagnose a ticking sound from the engine that only happens when it is cold. They told me they can no longer diagnose Genesis vehicles just do basic maintenance. So I am going to take it to a Genesis dealer for the first time even though there really isn't one too close to me, closes is about 15 miles which is considered far in LA. I just hope they dont say "your car is really a Hyundai we cant diagnose it hear". Anyone want to post their experience at the new Genesis dealers, I hope it is VIP because I still have the drive shaft shaking issue and hope that also gets taken care of.

If it's a Hyundai Genesis, then the Hyundai dealer can do it. Don't know why they would tell you they can't.

They said something about not having the parts but also not having the authority. Maybe its a new thing when Genesis dealers are in the area.

But it’s NOT a Genesis. Why did you let them tell you differently?
No such thing that I have heard of. If it’s Hyundai I doubt that Genesis will touch it. What dealer are going to go to?

South Bay in Torrance, Im goign to call them next week to schedule an appointment will post how it goes. Nothing closer to me in Downey maybe the LA Genesis but traffic is crazy. Too bad Cerritos could not become a Genesis dealer.

If they don't know you are driving a Hyundai, maybe it is a good thing they are not a Genesis dealer. Have you had the car from new or recently buy it? That ticking noise at startup may be the normal noise on GDI engines.

Sounds like they just don't want to mess with it. I'm assuming this is a warranty issue? If that's the case, a standalone (if there are any) Genesis dealer would not be able to do it. It's a Hyundai, so all warranty claims have to go through Hyundai, not Genesis. You still have a Hyundai, any Hyundai dealer can take care of it. At least any competent one.

Maybe Genesis of Huntington Beach would be a good option too. I don't have much experience with them, but everything seemed to be clean when I did a test drive there.
