Oil Pan Leak Covered by Warranty

Checking to see what you guys think. My 2015 5.0 Sedan when purchased last month is a certified pre-owned unit. When I took it for an oil change at the dealership last week they identified a small leak at the oil pan. The leak was confirmed by second opinion today and I saw pictures. The leak is so small it won't be much of a problem but I want to get it fixed. The dealership quoted $1,300 for the repair which seems way high as the part I found online was only $200. Wouldn't something like this be covered by the CPO warranty? While under the vehicle we also found that the skid plate was damaged and missing bolts. I'd like to replace that too. Anyone know how much that would cost?

I would think it you should be good it being a CPO?

What is the leak from? If the oil pan was damaged along with the skid plate, no, not covered. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, not accidental damage.

Since it is a CPO, it should have been inspected and damage noted. If that was done, you may have a case. OTOH, if you did the damage, no.

Not enough information so Judge Judy may not be much help. If you can prove the damage existed beforehand you have a good case to get the dealer to fix it all, if not, you may be screwed.

So follow up after finally getting with local dealership on repair. Everything was good and covered by the extended warranty/CPO that came with my vehicle. The repair as well as the vehicle rental was fully covered.
